Hello there, I am a Mage. Most Mages in modern times will use any magic weapon they please, however, I am one of the more traditional Mages that uses a wand. You may ask yourself “why on earth would a Mage use a tiny weapon like a wand, when staffs and other magic weapons are so much more effective?”, that’s an easy question to answer.
I carry a wand to zap heathens into sheep, especially the ones that plague goldshire and other RP places. For more practical reasons, it’s very light and can destroy armor very easily through magic enchantments.

You carry a stat stick. WoW mages haven’t learned how to use their weapons yet.
Staves are heavy and unwieldy. Wands are light and have a certain flair to them

Your not wrong, the people in Harry Potter carry a wand and not a staff.
I say allow us to transmog staves into wands. 
I’m actually serios, because I never get to mog any of the wands I have in my mog catalog.
You know i saw you poke someone in the eye with it just last Thursday…

I can tell you why not to use it,wipe a raid out . It so embarrassing that even a simple targeting can turn into a disaster.
they miss out on so many opportunities to add some great wand art into the game…it’s just as standard a fantasy weapon as a staff for casters if you ask me.
maybe we can encourage them to add more and make them a unique weapon somehow
