Why I am leaving for FF14:

Did PVP happen?

im only evil when the lesser races bully me

It sounds like your personal connection is having issues, not FF14. I can speak from experience that I never fail mechanics or any of what you said. I have a 100mbps connection so…call your ISP and ask them to check your cables outside house or w/e they can do. I once had my internet disconnecting and lagging for weeks, I called my ISP and a cable outside my house was damaged by neighbors cutting lawn and it got raised somehow :upside_down_face:

Quality (and location) is better than quantity when it comes to MMO connections. You can have a better connection with a 1mb connection then someone with a 1gig

Data streamed for connection per hour is measured in kbs

And edit: damn neighbors, always ruining things. Glad Mine are like half a mile away in all directions.

Downside of living in a community with houses side by side

False.

And false, since many gears are level locked.

And as for factions, talents, and specs, yeah, don’t need them since every class is available to your character to learn if you want. True there.

Oh dear… hope you enjoy XIVs sever ticks.

I’ve had those issues as well and I was always under 20ms. It’s not our internet, it’s the tick-based server infrastructure. It’s nowhere near as responsive as most other games as a result.

That’s consistent, though, and can be accounted for, unlike with lag.

Oh sweet summer child. Maybe if their netcode wasn’t as janky as their engine.

I don’t know why you experience then thought when I don’t.

I don’t have any problem with it, from solo play to hunt trains to NM trains in Eureka.

Yes, lag doesn’t really hurt my pet battling neither.

It’s more an issue when you get into savage and ultimate, content where you want to know precisely when something is going off.

You do get good at abusing the ticks though, you can cast on the move a lot of the times if you know exactly when to time it so you do get used to it but no, it’s a really awful experience.

Which is great, wish I can do that in WoW, got so used to it in FFXIV, but it just interrupts my casts in WoW.

Yep, cause Wow is pretty solid in that department~ Took me a good while to unlearn my bad habits I picked up working around XIV.

But if you prefer it, that’s great, I’m not trying to rag on the game or anything I just want people to be truthful about strengths and weaknesses.

Thank god in WoW the only thing you have to deal with is the server taking a dump from having more than 20 people in the same area.

Only time I’ve noticed an issue is when that one boss it up in the Vale, the weekly world boss. They’ve had some issues with all the corruption calculations going off on top of other craziness lately.

Maybe you need to upgrade your system a bit? 20 people shouldn’t be hindering you for sure.

Server side, not client.

Never experienced it, maybe your ISP?
