We have a 41 yard range, so we can pull further away with less risk of facepulling something.
We can do it instantly with arcane, unlike shoot which is a .5s cast. This means it’s easier to be more precise with moving mobs.
We are faster, so we can be further away from the group and still corner pull using our superior range + cheetah.
Most importantly… We have the ability to instantly RESET the pull if it goes horribly wrong using feign death. If the warrior pulls extra, the group is just dead.
I mean hunters gotta cling to something, apparently the ability to solo elite mobs isn’t enough, so yeah you guys are the best pullers. Please stop pulling though. kkthx.
I don’t really like hunters pulling since usually when they pulls they feign death right as the mob reaches them and instead of them hitting the tank the highest threat is applied to the melee range healer you just dragged a mob into and then all hell breaks loose as the tank tries to get everything in order again. It’s way more smooth if hunters would just take a chill pill we get it you love auto attacking and it cost no mana let the rest of us drink
I mean warriors gotta cling to something. apparently being the best tank isn’t enough, so you’ve gotta insist on pulling even though you’re interior. Please stop pulling though. kthx.
Theres an AOE tick of combat when you are in melee range of a party member in combat within a dungeon, which means unless you do the pulling the only way you will get to use damage traps is if the tank walks over it (they usually dont) or you run in and feign and trap.
The latter is usually unadvised since if you run into a group of mobs and feign explosive trap you probably will pull aggro, and now you are in melee range and feign is on cooldown.
Of course, if the tank simply lets us pull this is solved, we just have them walk over the trap and then feign and all is good.
You play hunter, so I’m sure you run into the inverse of the problem I run into. You may want to pull because Warriors you run into suffer mental deficiencies. I want to pull because Hunters I run into suffer mental deficiencies.
Neither of us wants to rely on a complete stranger.
Also tanks typically should be the one to set the pace. Not the Huntard.
I agree with you up until the tank setting the pace. The pace is set by the limiting factor. I would hope the tank would wait to pull on an OOM healer. Whatever the bottleneck is, is the pace.
This would depend on a few different factors, but I think we’re getting there. But if you’re pulling efficiently and wisely, you shouldn’t have to wait for the healer for each pull.
Not to mention, tanks may want to handle some pulls differently. Nothing would irritate me more, than an impatient hunter pulling a pack I could safely charge into, and now it’s a wild goose chase to gather up all the loose mobs.
