Why horde is able to attack me while i'm WM off?

In korthia , a horde attacks me while i’m on WM OFF and i can also attack , why? what is happening in this game?

Because you are cosplaying as a blood elf and the horde had enough of blood elves

You must’ve flagged yourself somehow. I know that when I have WM off that I’ll occasionally see somebody that has their PvP enabled, so I’ll flick mine on and eat them.

You didn’t know the secret Horde handshake. He figured out you were a traitorous Alliance elf.

Maybe you just got out of a battlground and were still flagged for PVP from that.

Regardless of how it happened you are flagged. Type /pvp and wait 5min. Problem solved

You have 5 minutes so anything could happen within that time frame.

Sometimes unflagged people can flag you if they step into your aoe

I’ve done this when I see bots, go into /PVP when they are using AOE and kill them, so satisfying.

Its not fun when you are fighting a world boss then suddenly 40 people turn hostile to you lol…

You can still flag up even though WM is off, so if you engaged in PvP then went to Korthia still flagged, you can get attacked by anyone from the opposite faction who is also flagged.

As others have said, in the old times way back when that makes my back hurt thinking about it flagging and /pvp was all the craze to go hostile. Somehow you got flagged for pvp, how it happened i am 99.99% sure was something you did and that’s fine! but should take a moment to self reflect and think about what could have happened or research it before you blame the state of the game.

Now a horde wiped the floor with you and that is sad: but think of the plus side, he more then likely used you as a mop! And Korthia is quite the mess so you did a good thing here!

You can just get on a flight path after turning your pvp flag off, and it will go away immediately.

Naturally - As all void elves are.

Now, where was I … Ah yes, where’d that traitorous Void elf in Kortha go? :eyes:

When in non-WM you can still flag yourself for pvp a number of different ways

  • Explicitly right click your character and select pvp
  • Attacked a horde NPC
  • Entered into a horde-only zone. For example, as alliance if I mounted up and flew over a horde town I would get auto-flagged for pvp. You do get a warning that its about to happen but if you’re not paying attention you would miss that.
  • Entered into a pvp-specific area. Most xpacs have pvp-only spots in at least 1 or 2 zones (there’s even a place down by booty bay as well). Enter them and your pvp flag is on.
  • There are a few toys that teleport you to “random spots” and they often teleport you to a pvp-spot.

Once flagged for pvp you have to wait 5 minutes before you can unflag yourself and in that 5 minutes, any enemy that sees you can manually flag themselves and attack you.

I remember dem days
Whenever I saw a flagged player back in the day that was the end of my AoEing until they left :+1:

I actually had this happen to me today on a low level toon. I had the marker for being sort of hostile, not the same as being in Warmode. I thought it was a bit odd but as I was on a very quiet server and there was no one anywhere around I didnt bother about it.

People need to understand that PvP can still occur out in the world without being on the WM shard. You can still flag yourself or be flagged by the game as “PvP enabled”, thus opening yourself up for attack.

Why horde is able to attack me while i’m WM off?

because we good like that. Horde #1 faction.

:muscle:

Those little PvP zones all over the game will flag you. lol.
i just go hide in my garrison for 5 minutes.
