Why his holy paladin crit cap at 45%

Everywhere I see, everyone is saying 35%-45%. What is the reason for this, because I can’t find a reason. All I see is the number cap with no explanation. I understand the old reason for cap was due to Holy Shock having a crit modifier added to it, but this is no longer the case. As of right now even with wings I can’t crit 100% of the time, so it seems like you want as much crit as possible to maximize infusion procs to rotate Holy Shocks quicker.

Crit chance has two types of diminishing returns: the normal one after stat values go above ~5000 points and you get less Crit per point, and the mathematical one where a 1% marginal increase in Crit chance at 45% current gives less value than a 1% increase at 35% current. (that’s technically the case with all stats but it’s more notable for Crit since having “extra” crit does not confer extra benefits)

It’s higher HPS overall to move Crit into other stats once it gets that high.

thank you

45% from just gear?

45% from all sources including weapon rune and phial.

For me running all Crit haste gear, rashok and essence set to crit, crit rune and phial I have to use one ring with haste mastery to not go over 45%
