Is this based on your opinion?
And where have I called someone spiteful? Here, let me requote my post and bold around spiteful for you:
How does making Alliance High Elves playable render Blood Elves useless? The High Elves already exist with us, they’re just not playable. Making them playable won’t suddenly make all the Blood Elves and their lore disappear?
IF anything, it would make the Blood Elf story more distinct. It’d highlight their differences between each other even further.
Yes, and this is only one of the reason why I’m against them.
Also, I shall warn you, I’m used to people acting as if their opinions are somehow more valid than mine while ignoring that their opinions are also just opinion, so don’t even attempt it.
You haven’t. Instead, you jumped in the defense of those calling others spiteful.
because the blood elves fought tooth and nail to get where they are, that’s why they became playable by joining the Horde.
People that simply squatted at Alliance cities because they couldn’t be bothered to help their own people, suddenly gaining enough independance to go out in the world and adventure as the rest of the murder hobos, would be like saying “hey, you guys on the red side, you wasted your time. Look at us, we did just fine!”.
EDIT: Now if you excuse me, I have to mumble curse words while I grind rustbolt rep on my priest.
I will certainly still prefer BE’s over HE’s.
I will still in game dislike one or the other depending what I am playing.
And as a whole Blood Elf fans are very loyal, I will not trade my love for BE personality and culture for High Elf on Alliance just because they are added but I will continue to see my voice used to helping them be added because someone else feels what I feel about Blood Elves but with Alliance High Elves, and I sincerely want that story and opportunity to play available for people.
Call, so nothing more than just opinions.
Right, so saying that there has been High Elves loyal, and associated with the Alliance is nothing more than an opinion now? Cool, try again.
And you think it is the right thing to call others spiteful? I’ll put it this way Midare, everyone has the right to request for playable Alliance High Elves, or Blue Eyes for Blood Elves, or what ever, and they have every right to do so without being called Spiteful or Selfish or everything else that has been mentioned in this thread.
It is time to stop with these sort of remarks, and not just you, but everyone, Anti or Pro.
High Elves fought tooth and nail to keep their identity as High Elves. That’s why they remained with the Alliance, because they were exiled by Blood Elves for not wanting to have a role with the Fel siphoning.
Or… it would be like saying; “Hey, you guys on the blue side, remember having these guys involved in almost basically everything in your story? Well, now you can play them. They’ve proven that they care about their identity as High Elves and that they care about the Alliance. They’ve proven time and time again that they dislike the Sin’dorei, and now you can finally play them.”
The High Elves have struggled just as much as the Sin’dorei, but honestly, they’ve probably been through worse. They were exiled from their homelands and have been hunted down by the faction that their own people joined. They’ve even been hunted down by Sin’dorei.
Especially if they receive a new model which I think most Pro-Helfers would probably like. That’s what a lot of people are suggesting anyway. If they receive a unique model as well as their own customization options I don’t see what the big deal is. Arguably they’d be more distinct from Blood Elves (as a player model) than Void Elves are. Void Elves are already Thalassian Elves. They still have the same history and shared ancestry that Blood Elves do. High Elves wouldn’t steal that especially if they have a unique model. Plus there’s different roads they can take High Elves down. I like the idea of the Highvale Elves taking up Shamanism and Druidism.
The debate over their name is rather silly imo. Everyone knows who you’re referring to when you say “High Elf.” But if High Elves were to be an allied race they could have some storyline where you’re uniting the various groups together. Whether that’s under the Silver Covenant or a new faction it doesn’t matter. They could take up a new name if need be.
Other than not only the alliance getting a copy of our most popular race, but a newer and probably better (just by virtue of experience) model?
Oh, I’ll be happy with these

Whether it would look better or not is up for debate. Some of the newer allied races I would call into question in that regard. But I don’t think it’s going to be that big of an issue. The Blood Elves can still get their own new selection of customization options come shadowlands.
I love them!
I guess that would be subjective as to what’s “better.” By virtue of being a core race The Blood elves will have far more customization options and classes available to them.
No, saying that somehow my opinion shouldn’t be considered while yours that says it won’t cause any damage should, it’s what I mean.
But hey, cool try, I hope that earned you a few headpats.
Are you purpousely ignoring the trademark symbol I used for comedic effect? Wait no, I know the answer.
You know, unlike the one you jumped to defend who didn’t use anything that you could use as a way to excuse them.
Oh hey, you twisted everything I said, nice.
Please, learn about nuance.
Tooth and nail? They did absolutely nothing to maintain the name. They simply choose not to return and not to honor their fallen. How is that “fighting tooth and nail”?
Ah, I see, you’re still using outdated lore and headcanon.
For the record, you can repeat the whole fel thing all you’d like, it won’t make it true.
And also, Only the elves at Quel’lithien Lodge got exiled, everyone else simply didn’t return.
Let me make it a little more accurate:
“Hey guys, remember those elves that betrayed their own people because they couldn’t be bothered, did nothing to even deal with their own magical thirst and only acted as NPCs that gave you quest literally anyone else could have given you and nothing would have changed? Those elves that cared so little about what they are that they mingled with humans instead of fighting for their own? Well, those ones aren’t playable. But the High elves that actually fought for their people, for their land, and moved forward while still carrying their legacy, are there in the Horde.”
Yeah, I’m sure that suddenly having the pangs dealt with for them by the Blood elves and the Draenei was hard work for them.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Exactly, it’s a subjective thing. Which means a lot of people who like their blood elves and like being on the horde will be upset if Alliance once again gets customization options they want for their blood elves that they can’t have (like the facial hair options blood elf players have been asking for since BC that the Void Elves got)
There most likely will be options that are not available to the parent race that they will want. The only question is how many people will be upset in that way, and would it be less than the people clamoring for those elves on the alliance?
Basically no matter what happens people will be upset. People would be upset with straight up clones (people who like the faction divide as is, people worried about the blood elf story, Alliance players who will complain about getting horde hand me downs in a clear example of Horde Bias if they ever saw one, other Alliance players who want something that brings something new to the alliance) If you changed current Blood elves to a theoretical improved model created for alliance elves you’ll get the people who like the old model better (and so on, and so forth, no matter what they do they’re going to upset some people)
And that last parenthetical is the point. There’s no way this proceeds without pissing someone off. So all the “There’s no downside in this request at all” comments ring rather hollow.
Honestly nightborne got hairstyles and ear adornments I’d kill for on my night elves so this happened to both sides. Hopefully with the core race customization both races will get similar options so that it evens out.
Personally I think giving high elves their own distinct silhouette would make it easier from them to use hair options and whatnot for blood elves as well. Humans and blood elves share some hairstyles. Night elves share some with gnomes and dwarves. They are slightly altered to fit the models of course. But that’s why I feel high elves should have an altered model so that it’s still easy to tell them apart if some hairstyles, accessories, or whatever cross over.
Funny story:
That comment about High elves going through worse sent me into such a huge giggle fit that it persisted while I was taking a shower, and even got me distracted laughing enough to force me to get back into the shower because I didn’t rinse the conditioner off my hair properly.
Thanks for the laugh.
It’s a problem with the elf swap. You have to change them to differentiate them from the original, but that leaves the people who want those changes on the other factions out in the cold. This is like the catch-22 area of the elf swap, I don’t think there’s any good solution to it.
They don’t work because they’re on strike!
They may look like they’re picketing, but they’re actually working.
I feel like I should learn how to put elf ears on them at some point
I do agree there’s no way to please every last person, but I think this would be the best way for most people. High elves would have stuff exclusive to them, blood elves would have stuff exclusive to them as well, and some things cross over.
Alliance get high elves, the horde keeps blood elves, and they can be differentiated from each other while also sharing some assets.
If you find me a gif that I can save, I can see what I can manage.
EDIT: And I made the mistake of looking for elven ears for future reference and found out someone actually got their ears surgically altered and I don’t want to live in this planet anymore.
