I have posted many times before that I had them in the beta and had no clue as to why Blizzard decided to take them out until I realized something… I think Blizzard did that as a test to see, BUT they Blue eyed ones are Alliance only.
Blood Elves are also not a race. They are a faction. Blood Elves are what the small select group of fel infected ones decided to call themselves after Kael’thas Sunstrider chose the name for them.
No, it’s what the nation of high elves renamed themselves to honor their losses to the Scourge. The other elves are a series of small scattered groups of varied allegiances.
I think most of the people that want High Elves agree with this. Blizzard could just add simple changes, like, animations, posture changes and give them some unique hair and beard options. But I’m pretty sure most of the Antis are entirely against the idea.
I feel like it kind of takes away from what they’ve been through, and it dilutes what the Alliance already has, but I honestly wouldn’t care that much.
that ‘faction’ of high elves just happens to represent well over 90% of the population and control the high elf kingdom, its lands, the sunwell and the civilian population. what do alliance high elves own? lets, see you could fit the 2 in SW in a single apartment and the SC into a few rooms in dalaran(yes im giivng you SC to drive home the point alliance have no claim no matter what).
there is no infection. they have a very minor green glint. more fel touched then taint. and they are currently getting detoxed by the arcane/holy sunwell. it will remove the insignificant remnant of the taint as time goes by for those not closer to the light(priests/paladins). probably just in time for shadowlands
Yeah, a good reason would need to be written to explain why the changes are exclusive to high elves for some to be satisfied. I can see that point of view and even that isn’t overly satisfying. I mean if high elves ended up with more fabulous hair and beard options it wouldn’t feel good for blood elf players I am sure.
I will always want high elves, and personally would prefer them to have their own model and everything. I am not holding my breath though. We have to get through shadowlands. If shadowlands ends up with any ARs I don’t expect it would be anything other than covenant races.
Ahhh okay these guys!! Yes I would be very interested to have seen more story about their experience after BC, and their stance on why they didn’t return to Quel’thalas etc :o
You cannot claim people are ignoring your points when they
Address them.
You ignore said counter point
That is you.
It is why Murgatroyd pretty much ignored you immediately after since your entire response was “I don’t agree with that and that is why you’re wrong.”
Sorry, you need to demonstrate how they are the same when everything, including lore, state otherwise.
Let alone that if we go by your logic and saythey are thalassian elves, then the alliance has the high elf race and have no need to request the copy the Horde have.
actually they said high elves are playable as blood elves. and theres no plans to change that. the reasons they were denied arent going away troy, oh, and then void elves are here now too
It was a platitude. Blizzard will not outright say “ITS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!”.
The closest was the whole “The horde is waiting for you” statement by Ion.
They don’t want to risk offending people. People pay them to play after all. If people are willing to keep hoping even after that statement, then it is no surprise they just continue making platitudes.
You were claiming that Void Elves are no longer thalassians because they’re not connected to the Sunwell. They’re still thalassians, and even Ion, himself, has said they are.
So yes, us as Alliance already have playable thalassians. No where in WoW’s lore does it state that thalassian elves forfeit their entire identiy, race and heritage for simply not being connected to the Sunwell. All they need to live is a source of magic to draw from.
And I addressed that as well, which you ignored.
Saying “well they can siphon energy” does not change the fact that the defining characteristic of thalassians is their connection to the sunwell.
This is why when it exploded, they went into withdrawal.
This is why when it was re-ignited, their withdrawals stopped entirely.
They are the ONLY race with such a connection.
I asked you before to name any other race with such a connection, and you flat out ignored the question. Again, because it means acknowledging it as a defining characteristic of that race.
Void elves have no connection to the sunwell, have tentacles, and bleed purple. Trying to argue they are thalassians is literlaly ignoring everything presented before you.
Ion stated “they are a different flavor of high elf”, just like night elves are a different flavor of elf.
Would you argue night elves and high elves are the same just because they are elves?
Nope.
I don’t care about any of that because the discussion is purely that they have changed at a biological level. This is just you creating a red herring that has nothing to do with the context of the discussion here.
So, again.
Name another race with the biological characteristic of being connected to the sunwell.
HInt: Only thalassians.
Sunwell present but you’re not connected to it? You’re not a thalassian elf.
End story.
Find me tentacles, purple, blood, and no connection to the sunwell on any other thalassian elf. You won’t find one.
Except for void elves.
Who aren’t thalassians.
Keep ignoring lore though despite being all about it.
Hint: Void elves don’t
Another hint: Night elves also draw magic from their moonwells.
Hint: They aren’t connected to the sunwell though. Only thalassians are.
So many hints but I am sure you won’t get any. Maybe its cause you’re a gnome and they go over your head.
