I think they wrote themselves into a corner with the group of Pandaren they chose to be playable. They aren’t really an organized group, it’s like a faction of dnd characters with no background so the DM can’t kill off their loved ones. It’s just a bunch of pandas that ran away from home and a vague philosophy concept that made them choose alliance or horde. There’s not really an outside group to connect them to to have a story, I mean even they had something like a martial arts school to tie them to that ties into all the pcs rather than it feeling like they are only connected to the one panda that led them and then the rest who left are almost all pcs. I mean you can make some stories with that but they really didn’t give themselves much to work with.
I mean, looking at this expansion, if they decided to make Vulpera neutral at least you could have Horde with desert nomad group and the Alliance could draw from the pirate ones. That leaves you with a group that the race’s story can use to draw from and have unique takes for each faction.

Which as a matter of function have to slaughter each other en masse for the story.

Wrong. I am one of those who make the statement and it is in response to those such as Alamara, and you, who have told those against high elves to “get out of OUR topic. Its not for YOU.”.
Its a public forum, and an opposition view is still on topic.
Anyway, I made a half elf topic. It is the best thing to IMO to give you lore hounds what you desire. It works as a cotinuation for the lore given WoW’s age.

i did say horde . ogres and sanlayn, for horde. sethrak and half elves for alliance. i dunno why we’d have sethrak but seems to be a popular request

ohhhh. k got it. had i known that was the translation, i woulda went in search of the evidence. not that it would make any difference since we all have seen the posts of people complaining the horde had been hit with the villian bat for the umpteenth time

yeah you’ve seen the threads where horde players complained about the horde being written as villians again. that’s my basic point on the original topic - the devs been tinkering with the horde’s rep for a long time.

No the issue isn’t that they “tinker” with the Horde’s morals, it’s that they ignore them. They have repeatedly been faced and successfully passed through situations where they had to rise above. They’ve been redeemed several times.
It makes no sense when they do this every 4 years that they then do it again unless it’s basically biological when it’s clearly not.
Meanwhile the Alliance has never faced such a crisis of identity yet the Horde is repeatedly backsliding.
It’s not “tinkering”, it’s terrible writing where the Alliance is perfect and never does anything wrong. Which isn’t the point of the Warcraft universe.
