It’s still unimaginable that since WoW announcement in September 2001, Alliance High Elves are still unplayable despite being an integral part of Warcraft RTS canon, from the very beginning.
They’re not an allied race, they are already and continue to be members of the Alliance, they are spotted in nearly every major Alliance city, and their lore is well established.
Giving Horde Blood Elves in TBC was fine, but the balance should have been playable High Elf refugees from Quel’Thalas that never succumed to the tainted Sunwell, and remained well out of the path of Arthas’ Scourge Invasion.
Alternatively, the same neutral race Pandaren style could have been created, High Elf if you choose Alliance, and Blood Elf if you choose Horde. In 2020, we still can’t play Alliance High Elves, yet they are all over the place.

Fair enough, but I’d question where they’re finding the mana then. Seems they got kicked out of Silvermoon and cut off from their supply to me.

Very well written post. We can only hope with shadowlands customization that blizzard introduces blue eyes for blood elves to finally shut down the deranged high elf fanbase.
