I haven’t pre-ordered Shadowlands due to the lack of information on PvP vendors/gearing. Sure I care about class design and covenants, but if I have to go through another expansion where I NEED to PvE in order to be competitive, then it might be time to drop WoW.
Please bring back old school PvP gearing. Bring back spam bgs for honor gear, into spam rated PvP for conquest gear. Allow for there to be a PvP set that can be deterministically obtained. Allow players to chose what combination of stats they want on a piece of gear. Make this PvP set BiS for PvP, but scale it down in PvE content. Give the PvP gear some sort of player tankiness, so those with PvE gear does more damage but is squishier.
The mystery of how PvP vendors/gearing will work in SL is what’s holding me back from pre-ordering, what about you?

              I don’t have a group of friends to run content with… and finding Guilds then later be on discord etc is out of my comfort zone… I just always gamed without all that and listening to music or w.e…
I don’t like pugging.
So overall it just boils down to a ‘‘ME’’ problem.

              I haven’t pulled the trigger yet because I’m going to get the epic version (I uploaded enough token credits to the Blizzard store for purchase) but I’m not ready to use the 30 days of game time that comes with it. That’s really the only thing holding me back right now.
Some time ago, I decided I won’t spend my real money on WoW anymore, but as long as tokens are a thing, I’ll keep paying for subs and new releases that way.

              Well mostly because I wanted to see If I’d enjoy it (which so far I do) but now it’s also about the fact that I just don’t have the money to spare (been unemployed since even before the Virus).

              I did preorder. But as a general rule, preordering is a suckers racket when digital download is a thing that exists. Don’t give someone your money until after they deliver a satisfactory product or service.

              Legion’s Broken Shore content drip across 3 months of once-a-week quests was pretty disgusting to me personally, though apparently most players don’t seem to care about it now.
BfA had a lot of ‘that will have to wait until next patch’ moments between Shaman specs at launch through Azerite Gear in general to gating specific allied races until ‘their story was in the right place’.
So by the time we get to Shadowlands, between how confident they are they’ll get it right despite early feedback on Torghast and Covenants, and the continued insistence on multi-part Pathfinder?
I see no need to play TimeGate: The Monthly Sub from pre-patch until after Pathfinder is completely out.
8.3 clearly shows there’s no need to suffer through playtesting a new expac on Live servers for them, I can go do something else until they fully release Shadowlands and then buy in and play the ‘fixed’ version of the game.
Their monkey-pawed responses to player feedback like Titan Residuum and Essence currency instead of account-wide access are encouraging me to vote with my wallet more than my voice this time around.
Besides, it might even be on discount by that time when I finally do buy Shadowlands…

              BfA preorder is the reason. Decided this trash fire was the last time I’d preorder before getting a finished product. There conduct over the last year (Blizzard) hasn’t been stellar as far as I am concerned.
What they have done with shadowlands so far looks pretty good, I have to admit. But still, going to stick to this one.

              I bought it because I know for certain that I’m going to play it. Once I play it, I’ll form opinions about it. I do my level best to read zero critical reviews in advance of playing, preferring to make my own mind up about how good or bad it is.

              I never buy something I don’t know what it is.
As SL is still in Alpha, I’ll wait.

              i’ll get around to it. Regardless of the rest of the expansion, I’ve always (aside from MoP) enjoyed the initial leveling experience, and I go through it slow enough to warrant the initial cost.

              Err BFA? Remember leveling throughout BFA and being weaker than a level 111?

              What’s there to be excited about to pre-order? Death Knights for Allied Races? Really? Something I don’t even have unlocked mostly, i.e. Only Kul’Tiran’s and that’s the best they can do?
Legit. What’s there to be excited about? It has no OMG I GOTTA PLAY THAT Factor like Legion had nor the hype that BfA had.
Literally nothing exciting. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you. They won’t get me a third time after BfA Alpha.

              I’m in agreement. I’m surprised were not getting a new class as well. Every other expansion we usually get a new class. And no, allied races is not a new class, they’re basically just reskins.
Wrath = DK.
Cata = Nada.
MoP= Monks.
WoD = Pruning.
Legion = DHs.
BFA = Worst expansion.
SL = BFA 2.0?

              Eh, I enjoyed the content not being 110% faceroll. Granted, BfA leveling had no replay value whatsoever, but wasn’t that bad. (Alliance side seemed far better from what I can tell)

              Hi there!
I haven’t bought it yet due to ONE reason:
1 - I need to know the definitive release date first, so I’ll be able to pay it in a date that betters suits me… or should I say… my wallet;
To buy ANY product on internet is primordial to know the final release date, because if is delayed to DECEMBER 2021, I could use that money NOW in other important things, and leave the thought to the next year.

              Waiting for the final product. And that might be only the last patch of Shadowlands, I’m done with borrowed power systems growing each patch when our classes don’t feel great. I’ll do like BFA and play mostly only the last patch if they stick with that because it’s the only patch for me that is ok with all the systems making finally gameplay decent.

              I haven’t purchased shadowlands out of 2 main reasons:
-
I see no reason to do content while it’s current. Gear gets obsolete every new patch. It’s meaningless. So what do I gain if I start at day one relative to a few months later, when I can see if the expansion is any good?

-
I am playing Classic and I’m loving it. I know my WoW itch will be scratched even without shadowlands.
