They’re happening but ghoul sightings are extremely rare right now. Should pick up over the next couple weeks I believe.
Next week it is suppose to be in full force, but I wouldn’t get your hopes high.
Was chaotic on the PTR but it got nerfed fairly heavily from what I have heard. We will see on Tuesday.

You can encounter a few ghouls now, and they drop a quest item that you take to the Argent Crusade in the city. I think It’s meant to setup that the Undead are beginning to breach the cities and the big invasion will happen starting this Tuesday.

When do I get to see chaos? When do I get to fight with or against an army of ghouls ransacking the cities?
Has this happened at all yet? Or is it just the skirmishes in west fall and Darkshire?
Because the event got nerfed so it wouldn’t disrupt normal gameplay.
I just said, as did others, it happens next Tuesday…

Nothings gonna happen. The chaos happened on PTR pre-nerf and NOTHING was safe. All cities horde and alliance were overtaken by zombies, being in a city was a death sentence. There was massive complains that it would make the game unplayable(which it did) and people didn’t want that. They wanted an Opt-out, so anyone in PVE will never see zombies.
So I have not missed anything and/or there might not be anything to miss.
Well, I truly hope I get to see chaos next week then.

Don’t get your hopes up, the only way to see zombies invading anything is in WM and people do not care enough to enter Wm just to become a zombie and infect others. Among other nerfs:
- NPC zombies only last 1 minute and die
- NPC zombies do not infect PVE player
- NPC and player zombie healths are baby hp…you can 3 shot them.
Ect ect…basically unless players care enough to gather in WM, what you see now is all thats gonna continue happening.

I thought the NPCs could get infected…
I went AFK yesterday on an alt, level 25 (Warmode on) and I went AFK. Came back to a Zombie smacking at me in the middle of Stormwind. Wasn’t taking really any health off of me.
They can but they raise as zombies for 1 minute then insta die. They also cannot attack pve players, must be PVP toggled.
Oh! Players not flagged, I see.
I can’t believe that this was watered down so much.

Yes and because of those complaints the main part of the event (at least in my eyes) is going to be hollow and ruins hype for SL. Should have kept the event chaotic in WM and let those who wanted to complain stay in WM off and be happy.

I will say, I was on PTR when the event originally dropped and it was rough. The lag was so bad that I couldn’t do anything for like a minute and got infected and turned into a zombie. They were also EVERYWHERE, and you couldn’t even do the pre-patch quests, and the zombies were OP as hell, in my opinion. I think because of that it was nerfed.
I frankly believe they should have left it the same but made some slight adjustments. Make a “bubble” around the NPCs for the quest line so you can actually complete the quests. They also should have nerfed the ghouls slightly, they were hard to kill and if you had more than two around you you were screwed. They should have made the ghouls a little weaker but not as much as people are saying Blizzard did. Outside of that they should have left it the same.
