Why have courts?

There’s a big difference between one man being sued with no investigation and A company being sued after a two year investigation

Regardless of their verdict though, it will still be more information in the picture with which we can form our opinions. With that development still on the horizon, I generally err on the side of waiting for it to develop fully before actually solidifying my stance, even if I already think I can predict where that stance will be.

So much this. This paragraph right here encapsulates my entire feeling on the matter.

More than likely true, but let’s wait and see how it all plays out."

Yes the difference is the state of California gets hundreds of millions of dollars of they find fault. Whereas random woman accusing random guy gets nothing.

Yep. My ex gotta arrested for resisting arrest. She wanted to fight the charges, go to court, ect. As she is over 50 and had no priors in her entire life, I told her to go to the Prosecutors office and talk to him in person and ask him for a plea deal.
Luckily we lived in a tiny tiny town then, and doing so was pretty darn easy.
He gave her 30 days suspended and a $500 fine. She could have gotten a year in prison if she had pushed it to a judge and argued with him.
Prosecutors hold ALL THE POWER. If you can get a semi-decent plea deal, you take it.

Blizzard lost so much integrity that people (myself too) find it very easy to believe the allegations in this story.

Also, let’s remind you that Blizzard themselves have shot off and punished people for unfounded accusations.

And further, Blizzard has tried to build a reputation as being “woke” to get money from that crowd. Anyone of that crowd that sees these things are easily going to flip. They are fairweather friends.

“Bliz is obviously guilty and we should look into this no further and punish bliz as much as possible right now”

Well you better keep going because that is not even close to what you are quoting. People claiming they believe the state allegations and former employees who have come forward are not even close to what you are claiming. Of course maybe given enough time you can find one or two posts that may come close and some how confirm what you are claiming as widespread.

Almost as hilarious as the WoW player base being woke asf edgy boiz talking crap on social progress, even reproducing sexist/racist speech in twitch chat cuz we’re no lefty puppets and all and now calling out to cancel blizz due to sexist claims lmao.

If I may jump in for a sec, I think what Timat is trying to say is that while the evidence seems very hecking for blizz, we should at least give them the opportunity to defend themselves in court, as is a right given to them by the United States as opposed to immediately writing it off as an open and shut case because “no one would ever lie about this!” its not that Timat thinks these people are lying, he just thinks Blizzard deserves a shot at defending themselves.

During this period of record high stock prices amongst actib’s buy back of stocks, the dip caused today could have saved someone 100’s of thousands.

How do you get to the point that you seriously believe this? I mean just wow?

Do you think the Earth is flat and the GOP freed the American slaves too?

Civil lawsuit not criminal prosecution. There are no consequences for these people. This will end in a settlement for some undisclosed amount with no admission of wrong doing like it always does. It will be forgotten like all the others. Did you even know about the harassment lawsuit against Bobby by the female staff member on his private jet? No? Didn’t think so.

Blizzard over the years has arrogantly squandered any goodwill from players, so there’s not much sympathy to go around. In fact, its arrogance makes the allegations all the more believable.

And the allegations are believable for a variety of reasons. They were uncovered during a two-year investigation; they originate from numerous sources; the treatment of women in the video game industry as a whole has been known to be poor for a long time. The harassment isn’t a one-off thing players can shrug at and think to themselves that perhaps the allegations aren’t all that trustworthy.

I mean…

Its not the exact words I used but is pretty much the same.

“You cant help but believe them”

So why look into it further?

But I suppose you need the EXACT word-for-word phrasing I used because you realized that this sentiment is quite more common than you thought and dont want to admit it.

Now see THIS is strawmannning

That right is ONLY for being punished by the state and not about personal opinions. He is also pushing the narrative that people are saying the cannot defend themselves, which is not what people are saying. People do not need to wait for a court trial to decide an opion.

Which again is not even close to what you are claiming in your strawman.

Aight well I get the feeling you’re just gonna be mad about this so ima let you get back to it.

Whose mad? I am pointing out the apparently the difference between personal opinion and constitutionally protected criminal liability (which this isn’t even a criminal case).

Also pointing out that one poster keeps trying to claim extremes while ignoring these are personals opinions.

WE AGREE

You can have the opinion that Bliz did these things.

What I am arguing against is everyone screaming

“Drop your wow sub”

“Bliz is a hateful company”

“Bliz is evil”

etc. etc. without giving Bliz a chance to defend themselves.

The thing about opinions is that THEY CAN CHANGE…but only if you are open to new evidence aka…a response from the accused.

I am not faulting people for having an opinion, I am faulting them for assuming their opinion is infallible less than a day after the accusation drops. That seems a bit jumping the gun to me especially when you start calling for actions based off of that rushed and half informed opinion (half informed because you literally have only 1 half’s side of the story atm)

It’s always fun how people are willing to throw away rights when they are not the accused. But when they are accused they want every right they are entitled too.

It’s a sad reflection of the times.
