I stopped playing WoW after Cataclysm because I was broke and needed to work. I remember at that time the game was flawless unless you had conflicting mods. Staff was on top of bugs the instant they were reported, and the most you would ever see in terms of any kind of bug was something so small and rare that it wasn’t even worth noting.
I started playing WoW again about 5 months ago, and I’m flabbergasted by not only how many bugs I encounter on a regular basis but how serious those bugs are. I’m talking bugs like the broken lake in Hillsbrad Foothills, the mailbox system which never seems to work anymore, and the fact that it’s a 50/50 of whether the general or trade chat is going to be available.
What happened? How did this game go from being solid as a rock to buggy as a Bethesda game?

Posting vague instances of bugs layered with personal rhetoric does not help anything. You need to be more specific, else it just comes off as wanting to vent on the wrong forum.
the broken lake in Hillsbrad Foothills
Example: what do you mean by “broken”? Does entering the water cause a CTD? Is it a graphical error, like missing texture or flickering? If so, have you tried tweaking your settings, done a scan + repair, updated your drivers?
the mailbox system which never seems to work anymore
Is mail not able to be processed (minor net hiccups can require you to reopen the box before sending/receiving)? Are you flat-out losing letters before the 30 day expiry period is up? Are you not receiving auction sales/closes?
the fact that it’s a 50/50 of whether the general or trade chat is going to be available
Under what circumstances, from what city, from what server, at what time, and have you checked your net connectivity?
