Can anyone give me an accurate answer as to why pretty much every single modern WoW system was borrowed from Diablo 3? (WQ’s, visions, 5 active skills, affixes, etc)
Diablo 3 wasn’t even that successful… it just doesn’t make sense why blizzard would turn their most successful game ever into a reskinned clone of one of their biggest flops ever.

Rumor says part of the Diablo team was moved to WoW. Also, D3 wasn’t a flop, not even close; it’s been ported to every current gen console with massive success. Even the big N bundled it with the Switch, very few third parties have been allowed that.

But apparently it did…even though they are making Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal…right?
So many “experienced game designers” are cargo cultists, that’s why.

If WoW was Diablo, you could get the best gear from any activity.

The Diablo “season” format has been wildly successful with next to no work on the devs part. Sustainable gameplay with very little work? Of course they’d try to duplicate that over to WoW. Granted, they should take a hard look at WoW and why certain features from Diablo just wouldn’t fly here.

It’s become more of a Destiny - Diablo hybrid. Both were hugely successful and easily accessible. That’s your reason.

O.o? 15th most successful video game ever just under Skyrim.

Right. It was very successful. Where it might have failed is the retention rate.

Diablo 3 team moved to WoW team.
It’s weird though because a lot of problem fixed in D3 are being ported to WoW?

Nah, you could play a necromancer in Diablo. Completely different.

This is exactly why I only play WoW casually now. I dabbled in Diablo but did not like rifts and literally doing the exact same thing over and over and over as fast as possible.
Of course one of the good things about Diablo they don’t bring over . . . the shared storage between all characters.

Only people who don’t check facts think WoW borrowed these things from D3. WoW had them before D3.

Most likely running out of idea

One mistake Blizzard has made in this decade is to unite his universe with concept and villains.
-
In TBC the draneis is a clear example that looks very much like the Prottoss from Starcraft.
-
In Starcraft 2 he showed that the main villain Amon is linked to the void, something similar to what will be seen later in WoW with the Voidlords.
-
Diablo 3 added an auction house, the same concept it did in WoW, which he did not like to add that new system.
And with the union of one of the creators who made the game Witcher, they supposedly saw Drustvar as if it were that we were in Rivia and its supposed monstrology.
After you can’t do anything else with the reference that looks like the Warhammer franchise, we’ll probably see
Ahh … yes, what Illidan says doesn’t seem familiar.
From Warcraft 3.
this is what happened. at pre-production, and launch diablo 3 was so bad, they gave it away free. they took that dev team from diablo and moved them to WoW so they could screw WoW up (which they have done). the replacements then fixed diablo. that’s why we have WoD, legion, and BFA. although legion didn’t suck as bad as WoD, and BfA, it wasn’t for lack of trying.

I won’t mind if WoW became Diablo. My question is, why has WoW become Diablo 3?

Not until it was too late. Might be the same here

Diablo moved in the apartment next door so they see each other all the time!
