Why has Maintenance been Extended every week?

My favorite past time at work is watching the NEETs complain about playing their fantasy MMO during business hours on a work day.

Inb4 times zones… this is NA not EU

Inb4 “i work night shift” 84% of employed workers are day shift and its more likely statistically that youre either a NEET or unemployed. Source Bureau of Labor Statistics. Use this downtime to apply on Indeed so my taxes can stop supporting your wow token consumption

tos or not, Would you buy a smart refrigerator if the software had coding problems?

Completely agree with this. It should have been November at the earliest.

Do the math and show me.

Its asinine at this point.

so basically you’re happy to guess at the personal situations of strangers on the internet because you enjoy feeling superior to them? are you ok?

I blame Tr^mp University.

There’s still no excuse to advertise 3 hour downtime (when it’s expected to be 1 hour for reset for the last 20 years now) then they keep adding an additional hour unexpectedly…in total looks like 5 hours down time today alone.

Im fine. Im at work not the ones malding bedause of maintainence thats deliberately chosen at this time because MOST paying customers are not engaged with their game during this time

Imagine not having a day job kekw

hey bro whatever you need to nurse your ego, i guess. i just feel like you shouldn’t get high and mighty while being super silly

They could simply announce 8 hour maintenance every Tuesday, and when they finish the actual 3 hour maintenance in 5, they look like hero’s. But that’s TOO logical.

I suspect that Activision’s finances were just really, really bad, worse than anyone knows, and MS was basically forced to either a) continuously set fire to barrels of money or b) unload a lot of staff and take it from there.

That said, I think outsourcing CS is a terrible idea and will fail so hard that there winds up being no CS, or the group will be reconstituted.

It’s popular these days for “devops” to eliminate QA, but my experience is that developers suck when it comes to verifying the quality of their releases.

Sooooo I don’t know.

more like they hired people from bangalore

It’s not just $.50…“TIME IS MONEY” and when you only have limited time to play through the week…GUESS WHAT?? You miss out on getting things done for the week when they have 5 hour maintenance. It’s ok to be wrong but don’t understand why you would be on here defending the multi billion dollar company.

Well as long as you cry babies are paying for the game, they have a job. So, stop paying them and find a different game or get a life, or you can wait like the rest of us. And, Blizz if I get another damn trinket from a Delve, I will invent a way to choke through my screen whoever is in charge of the loot table and rolls.

Im merely stating that all mmos need maintainence. Tuesday is chosen from data on user trends. Tuesday mid day is the lowest engagement time yet you still have a handful of addicts that cant fathom touching grass for a few hours. Theres no excuse for it.

Others MMOs are not dealing with the infrastructure that wow is.

wonder how much that 20 cents would be for every player that was trying to use the service, might incentivize them to change the time to be earlier in the morning given they keep having extended maintenance

Are you creating a made up hypothetical where this hypothetical player is so productive and busy that mid day on a weekday is their only free time? Who does that reasonably represent? I cant really think of industries with gainful employment that provide that kind od wonky schedule
