Her skin…was red. Because she’s a red dragon.
Yep, you read between the lines of my post and found my secret racism! there are only white and black people!
/makes spooky ghost noises

She used to be a night elf.
They probably changed her model because they were bored with it.
I think Alex should have a line saying that in game. Have another dragon comment on her appearance, and have her reply “I was bored.”
Many science students are about to get an F.
White is the culimation of all colors.
…She’s a dragon
she can turn into w/e she wants.
she lived in the orclands but now in the snowy areas, her color just adapts to the environment.
She was never black, but I also wouldn’t say she was always white. She was “tan” with a reddish undertone because she is a red dragon.
Winner!
she’s always had that skin tone. not sure where your getting grey or black from, but i could see an arguement for her having a tan on top of wyrmrest (atleast, that’s what it looks like to me) but like… maybe she’s just been spending a lot of time indoors?
This is the perfect explanation.
I was just thinking of how to explain it properly witout just saying she looks red, but this explains it a lot better than i was about to.
To be clear, I’m not just referring to her old/original model in WoW, although it does get included since it’s still the same character. I mean even like…you can compare her appearance in the Battle for Lordaeron cinematic vs in-game cutscenes for that same battle and it’s like looking at two different characters. Blizz has seemingly no consistency with her appearance!
She’s never had this.
She was Belf tan, not dark.
And all I can find of her for Dragonflight is artwork, which doesn’t remotely tell us what her in game model will look like.
You are very passionate about this. All I said was “yeah. she was darker”
I mean, considering I’m the color of paper, she’s pretty dark to me. I’m indifferent either way.
I’m not sure where you get some sort of “passionate” thing from? All I did was make a neutral comment that she’s Belf tanned and supplied a pic for others to see. There’s no emotional investment here. Just a reply.
You people do realise you’re arguing over the skin colour of a lizard, right?
No, OP is just making a mountain out of a mole hill over an old in game MORTAL model compared to artwork for her HUMANOID form.
Because that’s how she has looked since…wrath?
Yep, shes a lizard, I get being upset about a character being whitewashed but I’ll be honest I don’t think that’s what’s going on. She was dark, not black.
This is the answer.
We see it in every aspect of WoW.
Maybe they need a lead Consistency designer or something along with that Narrative position they are hiring for. Just a couple people to look at stuff and go
“nope, that’s not how it’s been for the last 10 years.”
