Why has a streamer been buying gold on live stream for weeks and is unbanned?

A player is streaming, showing players how to buy gold, advocating for it and he has not been banned.

It has been weeks of this occurring. When is Blizzard going to do something?

Blizzard doesn’t ban streamers because the Very Smart People who run this ruined I.P. think that if a streamer is banned, then all the streamer’s followers will cancel their subscriptions.

You could try explaining to the Very Smart People who run WoW that a streamer’s viewers aren’t necessarily paying subscribers, but they would just look at you like you insisted that 2 + 2 = DOG.

How about dropping the name… name drop him… nothing stopping you

A player that RMTs is still a subscription at the end of the month, all that matters. Until they see a large enough boycott that affects there total subscription number nothing will ever change and that will never happen and Blizz knows it.

against forum rules.

He’s a pretty big streamer, usually 200-300 viewers. And yeah, he even names and recommends the gold seller he uses, shows how to do it and taunts Blizzard that they can’t catch him because of the foolproof method he uses. “Foolproof” apparently meaning doing it on stream, knowing full well that Blizzard’s anti-gold buying team are all deaf and blind.

streamers are above the law :expressionless: and also they can use the law against you if you bother them too much (like camping them on PvP servers). consider them part of the blizzard marketing team.

Ok

GreekWario there you go.

Buys gold. On live stream. Supports it. Laughs about being able to afford it. Laughs in Blizzards face. Helps other people buy gold and provides links to the website.

Appreciate you <3 scummy nonsense going on there

Don’t worry!

Next month Blizzard will hit him with a two week ban, leaving all of the consumables and items that were purchased on his character. He should definitely have to think about what he did but if they ban him forever, he might just up and cancel his subscription and that just won’t do.

I doubt what the OP is saying is true. But there is a kernel of truth to it. One of the more famous streamers got caught buying gold…on stream. And nothing really happened. He had the gold taken away, and that’s it.

To answer the question though, it’s very simple: streamers mean more to Blizzard than you do. They’re advertising the game. They’re bringing in players. So Blizz let’s them get away with almost anything.

this is false. naming and shaming is forbidden.

Ya?
