I 100% support any playable race that’s more interesting than “human plus pointy ears”.
Granted, these are humans plus pointy ears PLUS WINGS, which makes a world of difference. I’m already imagining playing a Harpy Enhancement Shaman that stormstrikes you with her feet.

Culture mainly. I would guess japanese are so mannered and shy (in general), anime tends to be a parody of their day to day lives. I dont pretend to know though, just a guess. From an asian point of view, stuff like that is more funny than offensive.

Why Illidan should be playable:
- he is cool
- he can fly
- he is non-evil
- he has cool pectorals and outfit + wepaon
- he is not female
- playable Illidan would make me happy
