Hello again you guys, I’d like to talk about guilds and guild leaders. Well first off I want to share what happened to me tonight in my guild. Well we are all having fun joking around and we all knew each other was joking but for some reason when I made a joke I got kicked out of the guild. And no did not get a warning from the GL or anything. The only thing I got was a guildie saying yeah you can’t talk about that here. and I answered with a question mark??? and boom was kicked.
I was in shock and also offended myself. I did talk to another guild friend and they said the reason was racism. Now, I am not a racist person at all, also I was making light of a heavy subject. I basically said one joke about China. Now I understand exactly their hardship and I was not pertaining the joke to that. However , I am not racist and I feel robbed because I didn’t do anything wrong . The guild mates knew I was joking. Anyways I got kicked from the guild out of nowhere and to me, it’s fine but if you are going to run a guild in a pro way , at least give a heads up. But this isn’t my main issue.
I truly do not see why anyone should run a guild. In fact I think that it just creates more drama and standstill in a game. I think that guilds are not a good way to play a mmorpg. I mean seriously , who puts these guys in charge??? It’s not okay for many many reasons.
The way I see it is that maybe have no guilds and just form groups to get things accomplished. I mean why not?
I think it would be more helpful and beneficial to us all. I’m sorry but Guilds suck and you guys go over all the loot and stuff on these forums when the answer is right in front of you. NO guilds. Now I realize this is my idea that will never ever take place here , however it may take place in the future of mmorpg’s.
guilds ruin games more than they fix them and I am just sick and tired of the bulldrama and someone being over my head , that doesn 't even give me a chance…I mean what the hell? And before you all bring in your great experiences on, be mindful that not everyone has those. In fact I would put money that most these guilds today are garbage. They meet you, you agree to be a pet to them.

Why should anyone be in charge of you in a video game unless you have proved yourself, perhaps this is why FPS 's are more successful. Even if you prove yourself so what, …who ever created guild was not thinking right…We can all do the material without them.

I feel like there’s probably more to the story as always when it comes to threads on here.
It’s possible the leaders been keeping a tab on you base on who know what, performance, attendance or more than a few leaders were unhappy with you for some reason. The jokes just gave them an reasonable excuse to remove you from the guild, most leaders in guilds would never just kick a player for a joke with out a warning, even if it was slightly racist.
If I’m wrong then it’s very likely the guild will find itself short members and wont be successful long term. Unless your main is a rogue, since they’re a dime a dozen.

nah, guilds are just another way to control others, wake up. NO thanks. get your gear and move on. You guys are too young to understand. You just want what you want and yes all guilds are selfish. Can we please do away with them in the future is what I’m asking? It has nothing to do with my guild kicking me out because I have been kicked out of many guilds and seen folks get kicked too for some dumb reasons that yes I will stick up for. Some guilds are cool but I will bet 99 .9% are trash and do things only on their terms. Sorry I already bend over enough for the government.

You could always create your own guild and then no one is over your head. Depending on what you want to get done though, it may require a lot of effort to build and maintain one.

No, guilds are groups of people who get together for a common goal. OP said something you knew you shouldn’t and got gkicked for it. The problem isn’t guilds, the problem is the OP.
Also, every single time someone says “I’m not a racist but” they’re racist.

Well the only other thing then is you don’t need to be in a guild. You can play just fine without it. Other then maybe the last couple of raids.
Let’s say we remove guilds. Then, next time you make a tasteless joke in a PUG raid, the raid leader decides to kick you out. Well, then clearly raid groups are just another form of social control designed to Keep A Man Down, Man and therefore should be removed. So let’s make all content 5-man content! But wait, then you say yet another tasteless joke in party, and people have the nerve to kick you out (or leave, if you’re party lead)? Obviously these people are all Dupes of The Man, trying to keep you from what’s rightfully yours. So let’s just make all content soloable. That’s a solution. Yeah, who needs multiplayer gameplay in an MMORPG?

I guess I can feel you on the idea of not really liking guilds in general; I always prefer to not be guilded if I don’t need to be. I don’t like the drama or social obligations, and I usually find banter and racist China jokes kind of annoying.
But it is the basic social unit of WoW, and you kind of need to have a cohesive group of players to coordinate raids. Some people do PuG raids, but that has a lot of downsides.
It’s okay not to have a guild, and as a hunter you can get a lot done without one. But for many players one of the biggest and best things in WoW is finding a guild that fits them, a guild they fit into, where players share similar goals, attitudes, and humor.

lmao, gtfo of here , and the reason I’m tossed is because of cliques, ya know like hero cliques but in mmorpgs. you are wrong because my guild mates support me, they told me I don’t wanna be in this guild…so why is that?
yeah…I know, I brought this up for one reason and one reason only to not have guilds at all. Don’t be trying no lip service with me, you will end up with fuffy lips. lmao. I’m kidding. haha. I just don’t care for guild and never did even back in the day, I just felt overwhelmed by them. I’m gonna be honest I have been in over 10 guilds and I only found two that are cool, two.

No the reason you got gkicked is you made a racist joke. Another fact of the forums, every time someone creates a “woe is me” post like the OP then goes out of their way to defend their actions, what the person said they did is nowhere near what actually happened.

I disagree. Guilds are just groups of people grouping up and working towards a goal.
I used to run a guild and in no way were any members like employees. Not at all. I, on the other hand, did have a full second job of managing people. I got nothing out of if other than a personal fulfillment when the guild would progress.
In the guild I’m in I don’t feel like an employee either. People can do what they want. We kick people who are jerks though. If you are a jerk causing problems with others then that’s fine for you to not be in the guild.
Honestly though there are plenty of pugs around. If you don’t want to be in a guild then don’t be in a guild.

but you missed the point , I don’t care if I was gkicked. I think it’s just another reason to bring up what I’ve been meaning to. And so what if it’s different, maybe we were all meant to just play the game and NOT take notes on how well we do in a raid. To be it just is stupid and also it can be once sided. If you know your toon very well, then that’s all that matters. I don’t need someone tellling me how to do things because first of all I’m not even there so I’m sure that’s another reason they kicked me. yep I have no desire to raid, oh and did I mention they were all friends or are real life friends? Yup yup, I got screwed and not tatooted in this one but the irony of it is that some how I am still cool with them. And to me that is cool. I don’t come here just to make jokes and sh!t also when someone lies about me, I have to stand up because I hate lies, it is the worst offence you can take on me. I can not stand liars at all. …I will always attack them with every loyal principal I got. Seriously though, it makes my stomach turn how many of you stand up to liars. No thanks. I’m dipping out and I hope that I somewhat made ya’ll think about how stupid the system is.
Obviously you do because you made a thread just about that… my guess is that there is also a lot more to this story.

Then you don’t need guilds. Guilds are still useful for people who raid though. There’s no reason to make things more complicated for people who raid just because you’re pissy that your guild “didn’t like your joke.”

okay someone said something and I said" It doesn’t matter we are all gonna die from the corona virus" that is what I said and got kicked for.
I get it some take offence to that, I get it. But it was a joke and I was trying to be light hearted of the situation. and yes I agree with you Igyfarmyou. but I don’t see it as how it should be. I have been here since day one, I mean in mmorpg’s . I just think that their is a better way.
