Why go with 'pallid' when 'pale' is right there?

‘Pale’ is such a better sounding word than, ugh, ‘pallid’. ‘Pallid’ is right up there with ‘moist’. The Pallid Lady. I mean, c’mon. And that’s not even taking into account that ‘pallid’ also means boring and lacking energy. I don’t really like Calia, but I’d still rather she be ‘The Pale Lady’ than be saddled with ‘The Pallid Lady’.

The Pale Lady is one of the moons in Outland and the theory is they didn’t want to confuse players by giving the same name to two seperate things in the story. But believe it or not in history we have had many people with similar or the exact titles.

I guess for once Blizzard decided to not make their lore more confusing… for the most inconsequential thing possible.

It sounds more pretentious.

Right? That’s like saying there can’t be a character named Luna.

That woman has no place in the forsaken. I’m getting the spritz bottle.

In addition to essentially meaning “pale,” pallid also means “of little interest, or dull.”

Seems appropriate for her character.

Because pale doesn’t convey the nuance that pallid does. Pale can mean a variety of innocuous things, but pallid is almost always used to denote that the pale colour stems from illness, or injury. You’ll never see it properly used when describing something positive.

Blizzard loves to play on words ,some of them are weird.

This seems silly considering there are two different people named Hakkar.

The simple answer is in my mind that Pallid is to possibly make her sound more like she fits in with the Forsaken and their… repugnant themes to an extent.

It’s Sunday and you are weird.

Yep.

Your point?

I’m not going to ask what’s moist but I can guess

“The Moist Lady” :scream:

Why go with pallid or pale when 'stacked like a brick ****house seems most pertinent. For a while there I thought it was just going to be more fruit. I guess the side effects of the lawsuit(s) have worn off.

The pale lady is a cool title, the pallid lady is a lame emo band with one not completely garbage song.
