This is probably real late but I made a baby holy priest and not having circle of healing feels weeeirrd! Why did they remove that?
That was one of my favorite old priest spells!

They just didn’t know what to do with the spell and removed it and made PoH/Sanctify more powerful in return.
That’s really it.
Holy priest spec as a whole tho is kinda in a ??? spot rn because after the last “rework” they are now doing the iterations over it instead of the PTR phase where… you know… you are supposed to do that stuff
Ah well, I’ll miss that spell. I liked it for helping with aoe heals but I guess something can’t just “be” without being affected by 80 other passives and spells in some way now. Bleh
It was great for movement. But it was also an excellent spell to dismount with. I miss it as well. I miss the Dragonflight playstyle. That’s also when they started purging out Salvation with the introduction of the twelve minute cooldown.
They have been pruning a large number of abilities in TWW. I feel like it’s part button-corralling, but also to help ease up on balancing on their end? I do feel the DF talents made it too easy to load up on as many buttons as you could take, where the intention was to just take what worked well together or appealed to you. I’d advocate for another overhaul, not back to MoP rows, but maybe have choice branches instead of just nodes, to give more choices and decisions that don’t stack with one another.
We got Holy Nova now baby. Take the extra talent for it and that thing slaps now. You’re literally missing free big numbers not using it, in dungeons I mean. It’s pretty niche in an organized raid.
Oh okay I will try it out then.
That’s great if you’re in range. Sucks when you have to get into melee range to heal, tho. I’d much rather have Circle of Healing over Prayer of Healing any day.
TBH I would rather only have one between PoH/CoH. I don’t think it mattered which. I think they thought the same and chose PoH since CoH has a long CD and they’d be leaving the class with no spammable AoE otherwise.
They’ve buffed PoH up a lot though and made its targeting function like CoH did. It’s actually very good now in both raid and dungeon to build toward/use.
I need to try this, for raid because I feel like holy is really great so far but I missing something. I don’t like holy nova. I did try it tho lol.
My average cast on it in on Saturday is 3.34 mil, I took the first 3 poh talents (up to prayer of litany). Felt alright and double great for refreshing sanctify. The seemingly downside on it is that serenity casts feel more valuable to have stored than sanctify as it hits for triage.
I was going to make a thread, but I might as well stick it here and maybe make a thread later.
I am finding raiding as Oracle with an answered prayers build incredibly fun. CD reduction is always up first at the start of a fight, so you can blast out 4 PoMs in quick succession and stacks start building right away. Divine hymn throwing out PoMs, holy words resetting PoM and apotheosis procs a lot. Not to mention you can get a lot of instant cast PoH with Divinity and Premonition. Piety gives you another burst healing cooldown.
I find this has less overhealing and more impactful heals outside of apotheosis with prayer circle and PoH if needed. You can also use halo when it’s needed, instead of it just rolling on CD to make sure you have more apotheosis uptime. I find holy words still very plentiful and actually don’t just worry about dumping them willy nilly.
It gives me a lot more to do than the AP Archon build or the Archon lightweaver/PoH build. Mana also isn’t much of a concern unless you play terribly.
