It was more of an exploration as to why blizzard would go through so much effort to create this narrative when, like with LFD, a simpler answer would have been to just leave the high elves as they are, along with adding the kro’kul draenei.
It’s because they are being unnecessarily stubborn and wierd about giving alliance high elves. Even tho that narrative would make way more sense with Vareesa than the stupid void elf narrative under Alleria.
They can’t ever just give you what you ask for. They have to put their “creative” spin on it. However stupid it may sound or be.
The main reason for it is functionally as a playable race they aren’t different. An eye color change isn’t enough. It’s just giving blood elves to Alliance in the same way pandaren are on both sides. And Blizz doesn’t want to blur the faction lines to that extent again. So we got void elves, a more unique spin on it.
In lore I think they’re interesting. Void elves do bring up a good point of what happens to Void researchers now that the Sunwell is half Light. But that’s opinion based, not everyone is going to like everything that happens. And that’s totally fine.
Also the true inheritors are the blood elves. Blood elves and high elves are the same people, they just have different faction loyalties. Quel’thalas is home to all of them, it’s just the vast majority are with the Horde. Only small groups aren’t part of that.
The high elf population was brought down to near extinction levels after Arthas invaded. Near Extinction. The whole population argument supporting more BE vs HE holds no water here. How fast do you think you can breed?
Normal draenei with the white skin tone are next to impossible to differentiate from a lightforge, other than eye color. With LFD DK’s, there is no difference.
there is lore reasons from before wow they prevent blood elves ever joining the alliance from back in Warcraft 3 and the books the name blood elf is what all high elves are as their rightful king whom well prince kael’thas whom renamed all not some ALL high elves to blood elves inhonor to those who died defending quel’thalas and many other reasons such as them being on horde for years now that prevents alliance ever getting them blizzard is never and will never give you guys the blood/high elves you wanted but decided to give you something to shut you up by adding lore to make you have void elves as that is the ONLY WAY BLIZZZARD WAS EVER WILLING TO GIVE YOU THE ELVES this is a fact this is reality your feelings are not a factor here you don’t have a say you got your alliance high elves aka void elves that’s the most you will ever have you don’t get what you want life isn’t fair so just live with what you have because that’s all youl get.
