I think once every season (per account) completing challenging content such as getting KSM should award you a single token to purchase either new or old “challenging” appearances of your choice.
Rewards like an extra catalyst charge or some visual effect on your set’s shoulder or helm is very underwhelming.
I think legion remix is a perfect opportunity to make the mage tower appearances available again since they could still be time-limited to the event. They could even make power-capped scenarios to re-create the challenge

It is significantly easier then it was in Legion. You can cheese the hell out of mage tower with specific gear in TWW. Literally just YouTube it.
