Why don't we have more class related content in WoW?

I don’t think there is one.

I don’t think one short questline every 3-4 years is gonna make much of a difference at all. Doesn’t sound satisfying.

Maybe, but creating more storylines, whether it’s for factions, races, classes, whatever, also takes away from content and story. How can you push the macro narrative forward if you’re spending all your time developing storylines to push class lore forward?

And the answer certainly isn’t to make matching macro storylines but you’re just surrounded by class NPC’s, because that’s not different than having one big macro story line, except for RP purposes. I wouldn’t like the War Within storyline any more if I went through it next to other Shaman or DK NPC’s than I did going through it with Alleria and whoever.

It’s definitely better than the nothing we get now. :dracthyr_shrug:

I kinda feel like as a mage player the questline about Dalaran we got recently was basically a mage class order hall questline anyway.

Wasn’t the first time there was class related content in WoW. It was kind of the last time though. If Legion is what you are referring to.

No, it doesn’t. It actually can make the ‘main story’ more immersive by involving more of the world in it.

Because the two aren’t mutually exclusive. Like Legion, your class order halls can contribute to the overall story from different perspectives, which gives people a reason to explore ALL of them to see how the story goes from point to point.

But you would like it if multiple perspectives were working towards the same goal.

Have you tried playing Classic Vanilla? From Vanilla at least through Wrath we not only had class trainers, they actually had a job, selling us talents. And there were some class halls and class quests.

All that went away because people complained about having to go back to the class trainer to pick up their next talent.

Anyway, if you want to experience this, go play Classic Vanilla. There is SoD, Hardcore or Anniversary. The regular Classic has already moved on to Cat and is about to go Panda so you won’t see much class specific stuff there.

Hero talents are their “class fantasy” babies now. They will continue to be catered to for the next few expansions until they’re gutted for being too imbalanced, I’m sure.

wait till Legion classic, you will have all the class related content you can dream of

Yeah, the priest order hall campaign was super fun. We got to go beg for the paladins to come save us as the finale.

Blizzard showing their weird obsession with Paladins as usual.

You’d think they’d think more Lightly of them…

But it’s disproportionately useful to people that play alts

I’m ok with alts not being the focal point of content.

I’m fine with more flavor, glyphs, etc being added. But more core content being class based means I get less content over all.

Yet they base Mythic+ and Mythic raiding around 1%…

Stop.

Content for all.

Because, as before, it inevitably descends into each class complaining that the “other classes” have it better.

The priest questline was a darn crime, especially the ending.

There was that one quest for mages in DF:

And another in TWW:

Those probably cost us a raid tier or something.

P.S. I can’t help but feel Blizzard has been really cheap when it comes to Polymorph variants. One every expansion. While druids seem to have dozens of super cool forms and hunters have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to pets.

I hope they will throw us a bone and return to us Polymorph: Turkey come Thanksgiving this year.

I don’t even have the proper words in my mind to describe how AWFUL it was. Whoever green lit that storyline should be thrown into the Void.

No it doesn’t, because instead of spending 100 hours making one comprehensive story line, they’re spending 7.7 hours making the same watered down, less comprehensive story line from 13 different perspectives. it’s not an improvement.

Resources are finite, giving to one requires taking from the other. WoD, Legion and BfA had some of the longest content droughts in the history of the game because devs spent so much time working on Legion stories. So great, Legion was really cool, it just took forever to get any new content for like 6 straight years because of it. And there’s a reason they haven’t done it again since.

The story of Legion wasn’t any better for how they did it. Admittedly, there were certain gameplay aspects that were more enjoyable, but there were also gameplay aspects that were far more tedious because of it. And when you look at the entirety of WoD, Legion, and BfA, it was 4.5/6 pretty rough years for that 1.5 good years of Legion. Not worth it.

They’re not spending 100 hours making a comprehensive story. They barely spend any time on story to begin with. And good stories are told through different perspectives, from the religious texts to Lord of the Rings to Doctor Who.

Stop being a blind apologist for bad development.

Yes, it was. Compare it to BFA and Shadowlands, yes it was. Very much so. We need less TikTok attention spans and more War and Peace attention spans.

Well if all i had to do was cut a hole in a bag, i could have cut it better than this.

If we’re getting TWW, by all means, cut and run to make class quests.
