Whenever I join a LFR or weekly Boss raid and there are Warlocks in the group they almost never drop a soulwell unless they are asked to. Sometimes even then they ignore the person asking for healthstones.
Don’t they realize the biggest benefits to having Warlocks in the raid are the fact they can drop a soulwell, Summon others into the raid, and battle rez? When I play my Warlock thats the 1st thing I do when joining a group. Warlock DPS is usually not at the top on DPS charts so they have to help support the group with other things.
There is always one guy that doesn’t pick it up and comes onto the forums to complain. A true warlock waits until everyone is ready and frustrated wanting to grab it. Thus increasing the chances that we only need to cast the spell one time.
I use them all the time in PvP and get really excited when I see a lock in my group. Yes, they have saved me many times. Or at least delayed my death long enough to make a difference.
My reason for not doing it generally is simple - if I do it at the start, half the people have already shot through heading for the first boss and if I do it before the first boss the other half either don’t use it or just head straight into the fight.
That would be their dps. I have never, in the entire length of playing this game, been asked to drop a summoning TV in LfR. Others may have a different take.
People don’t seem to understand the Soulwell has a 2 minute long cooldown. If you don’t pick it up when I dropped it before…not my problem. Healthstones aren’t remotely necessary in most form of content so if you are desperately needing on in LFR like the OP where Blizzard graciously gives you 4-5 healers, might need to look inward instead of blaming warlocks.
I’d rather charge for summons. I HAVE to walk out to the raid every single time, but me telling someone they should walk too is apparently a “d*ck move”.
They probably are dropping then and you just aren’t realising it.
I’ve often dropped a soulwell on boss kill, on trash, and at the next boss and still get people asking for a soulwell.
It has a cooldown, if you miss you, chances are you might have wait for another one.
lol true that! Honestly I dont mind summoning people but I have a bit of an issue when I need to walk away and am given 30 seconds while everyone else got like 10 minutes but I had to stay because of my portal.
The only thing making me consider not playing a lock is the 6 second pet summon timer they are adding that completely destroys the warlock master of demons pet swapping fantasy. We are now just another dot class with no base interrupt.
