What do you think about making the garrison(s) a entry point for the new characters and making it so new/older player(s) can start, or build a garrison that will grow with their account and level with their character(s)?
This will help new players get a feel for the game on their own time and at their own speed. Making it less possible for the aggressive players to attack the players that want to enjoy the game with out having to spend a lot of time resurrecting and running back to their corpse.
This will help the introvert(s) have space and the opportunity to build a game play to enjoy.
The garrison(s) can be developed to give more content for the player to level their characters instead of spending a lot of time in dungeon(s) or other content that can get very repetitive.
The garrison(s) can be enhanced to let all the account characters build one garrison or “kingdom.” This can add levels of responsibility/rank like in the guild bank. The newest character(s) can start off as like peasant(s), so there is no clash of rank. Which entail the Alts can have ways of leveling with newer content, and people can focus on their main to higher level content.
This will allow the garrisons to be utilized indefinitely, instead of it being pushed aside when “you level out” of the content.
Players could set up a area where they can invite other players they trust to enjoy what they built and run quests and dungeons with them in other areas instead of just Draenor. Where the followers can be the addons for higher level content like dungeons, raids, and bgs to level alts.
The Garrisons, armour and weapons can be expanded to the level or the game for the players instead of leveling out at the 44 or 100’s.
If Blizzard was willing to put that many resources into levelling content they should just fix the underlying issues with it rather than revive a feature that was rather unpopular just to band-aid it again.
I’m not talking about being isolated in the garrison. If the garrison was updated to current levels with items and armour it could be added to the game play and be looked at like the delves, where you can run as a team or solo.
That sounds very much like funneling people into a Garrison to do things, instead of into the cities and the world. You specifically mentioned sitting in the Garrison and dungeon spamming. Or did I misunderstand that?
Also, they’re developing player housing. And the Garrison is in a pocket universe that probably already collapsed on itself, meaning they’d have to move it, make a new one, make it bigger, etc. And with player housing incoming, they aren’t going to build both a personal town to get armor and player housing.
My honest unpopular take is to combine an Exile Reach player home or garrison that is fully single player like an Ocarina of Time safe haven if you will.
Put skips along the way, but gradually add features and combat per class/spec until it involves you leaving the area to explore
Panda starting zone is closest to what I’m thinking although there’s a charm to the chaos of the goblin starter zones. Worgen is RP heavy and interesting.
At this point, it’s just hyper complex to make anything that doesn’t directly contribute to the main story now.
I chose Worgen as my starter race and intro to WoW. My experience would have been radically different if I had picked human or night elf. New players should be given a greater opportunity to be immersed at a pace worthy of tutorial that gradually increases but it’s 20 years now…
You don’t think if the developers add the Garrisons as a starting zone would give them more content to start and as the player levels they can build the garrisons? This would help them get hirer level gear and level their characters at their own speed also. And I’m not talking about epic, raid, or other wise gear.
I’m not saying to spam dungeons in the garrison, if the garrison content can be expanded into the new content. I will help the player especially the new ones level.
I think it’s overstated that it was unpopular as a feature. I think the two major complaints boiled down to how buggy the launch was, and how you could be trapped in a bugged out garrison, unable to progress for a solid week.
That and people upset that late into the expansion, they suddenly had to engage with garrison for a legendary, and it was a month long grind to get your garrison setup to even start those missions.
I think if they hadn’t botched the launch, and didn’t entangle the garrison with non-garrison progression, it would have been mostly well received.
Yes and No, it’s not all about me wanting to bring it back. It’s about I have close friends that used to play WOW and enjoyed the older content. I know, I know tell them to go to classic, but they left WoW all together due to they would have liked running current content and building their guilds with they current content.
People can already run any expansion’s content in any order with new characters with Chromie time.
It’s levelling content so you’ll blow through it without the slightest hint of danger, but it’s there to run to your heart’s content.
I’m not sure what you’re getting at with “they would have liked running current content and building their guilds with they current content”. That’s always been possible in this game.
