Why don't poison vendors actually SELL poison?

What’s their point? All I’ve seen is vanishing powder that doesn’t make you disappear, and skinning knives.
These vendors need better stock or get rid of them,
Same with all these class trainers that are now useless. Send them into the void.

Vanishing powder is to clear glyphs.

As for why they don’t actually poison, well, that should have been obvious since the start of MoP.

They used to. Before the massive revamp, rogues could not use Vanish if you didn’t have Vanishing Powder in their bags. If you ran out, you were screwed until you bought more. Same with hunters and ammo. Or priests without Light Feathers (Levitate), Shamans without Ankhs (Reincarnation), etc. There were tons of abilities which required reagents. Rogues also had to have their thieves tools to pick locks and disarm traps. And you had to buy vials and poison mats to make all of your own poisons. This stuff was removed in either WotLK or Cata, I forget which, but my rogue still has crafted poisons in his bank. They’re just leftover vendors from a time long passed.

Wow, I totally forgot about those.

New players just don’t know how precious bags space was back then.

@OP
As stated. The poison vendors used to sell the various reagents required to make poisons. Which is no longer required.

I, unfortunately, never kept my thieves tools or vanishing powder. Played after blinding powder was removed (or I might have that backwards, I forgot which was removed first).

Poison crafting was removed in WotLK, and poisons as a temp weapon enchant was removed in MoP. For Combat and Sub, poisons were removed altogether in Legion.

Really sucked for hunters. Had to dedicate an entire bag for arrows. Then if you got an upgrade and it was a gun, couldn’t use it until you went back to town and bought bullets.

Mos those items just turned grey

I miss having all these tools and regents in my bag. I even used to carry a quiver for arrows because I loved having a bow for ranged. Kinda wish we had ranged weapon options hehe. I used to throw spears at mobs and players in WotLK.

They used to sell the poisons which Rogues have to buy.
God forbid u dont stock up enough… lol
They also sold reagents for other stuff.

But now all Rogues get the poisons as a spell

I still carry my thieve’s tools.

Iirc blinding powder was removed in 1.12 or perhaps earlier. Vanishing powder was removed in late Wrath (perhaps the pre-cata patch?). I’m not positive as it’s been a long time.

Don’t forget the poison venders also sold the mats for Thistle Tea.

Vanishing powder was removed in the WotLK prepatch. Patch 3.0 was the same time poison profesion was removed and all you had to do was buy (or pickpocket junkboxes) to get poisons.
