So go run M+ or Fyrakk Assaults or the Heroic weekly and upgrade the gear. There’s more than just LFR.
Everybody has the same chance at gear. 
LFR isn’t even good for gearing; it’s mostly to see the sights. I took my little Shaman from like <400 to 430 in like a week and a half of keys.
I agree group loot is stupid. Personal loot was better in every way. We should be on a deterministic currency-based system with zero RNG but failing that it should be personal loot with heavy trade restrictions.

No. It wasn’t. Because when I was given a higher ilevel ring with crap stats I couldn’t trade it to the people that could use those stats. Now I can pass on it and let people who want it actually get it.
So that people can be geared in two weeks then cry there’s nothing to do?
And end up back where we were. No thanks. GL is perfectly fine.
Also are you doing the weekly quests? Especially the Suffusion quests? They’ll get you over the 400 ilvl real fast.
People are already geared in two weeks lol do you even play retail? Personal loot would slow down gearing.
You got to be over seas for almost two months.

Sure thing, kiddo. Because the six weeks of outrage over the catalyst and how no one has the gear yet is totally gearing in two weeks.
I can see you have no idea what you’re talking about.
First week: Clear normal and heroic and 3/9 mythic with guild. Do 10-20 keys including 8 20s.
Second week: Clear normal and heroic and 4/9 mythic with guild. Do 20-30 keys with most of them being 20s.
By then you’ll be 435+
It isn’t difficult. If you can’t do that then the loot system honestly doesn’t matter anyways for you.
Sure thing. Because every single person does that and that absolutely guarantees every person a full set of gear and tier in two weeks.

Bottom line: GL is fine for gearing, but crap for transmog. Take the good with the bad, though. PL was a cesspool of toxicity and isn’t coming back, because Blizz stopped it due to group stacking and wants everyone on the same looting style.
Aquiring gear has never been so easy in WoWs history. I have 12 max level alts I do current content with. It took my mage a weekend to go from ilvl 350ish to 417.
I would suggest to dail back on your LFR hyperfocus gearing and look at the other forms content and also look into crafted gear.

You run LFR for the 3 wyrm crests from the vault.
LFR gear itself is worthless.
You get gear from the 5 heroics weekly and Fyrakk’s Assault.
Group stacking is 100x worse with group loot. There was no toxicity with personal loot, only greedy people who were upset they couldn’t get traded a ring some healer got.
Because the drop rates in raids are predatory low.
if all you’re using to gear is LFR, this is what you can expect.
meanwhile, with crafted gear, m+ and drops in zaralek caverns, weekly rewards, etc. my paladin is almost 420 after about 2 weeks of intermittent play, no LFR involved.
LFR is probably the worst means of gearing possible.

Same thing would happen with PL you just wouldn’t see it.

On rare occasion, 2 people can roll the same number, in which case the game does a reroll, so it ends up being a 50% chance when it’s all said and done. That might be part of your problem.
