Why don’t monks use their fist weapons

Seriously how hard is it to use the fist weapons so I can see them at all times! I wanna punch things with a giant glowing fist not my brittle hands

Their staves are so much cooler. You can smack someone in the head and then have a drink from that little bottle hanging off the end.

Because we use our fists? It’s kinda what we do.

monks have very strong hands. it’s practically a requirement

This Draenei cannot find a fist weapon as high in intellect as the quest rewards given to her. The heritage staff she has beats any fist weapon in stats.

Gotta Hand it to ya monks…

yer not that smart.

I never noticed this on my monk…

After some testing it looks like my fist weapons only disappear for Tiger Palm and Whirling Dragon Punch. They are there for all other attacks.

A weird glitchy code I’d guess. It’s been reported plenty of times I’d imagine but they haven’t looked at it even from the looks of it. I’d get the Hulk gloves and half the time they disappear on me when I fight on my Monk alt. Kind of annoying tbh. But they seemingly don’t see it as that big of an issue.

A a cosmetic problem that I didn’t even know existed I would have to agree with them.

I even use the Grong’s Giant Monkey Hands and never noticed.

Windwalker monks don’t use any weapons. This is a failure of Blizzard to create unique and interesting animations for the class and different weapon styles.

That’s fine. But it’s there and people notice it. It won’t be fixed so it’s not a matter if you agree or don’t but more of the fact that if you introduce weapon wielding, at least have it be there for the duration and not choppy moments where it disappears. Not too much to ask from an established gaming company  one would think.

Hmm, nope… when I have fist weapons equipped I am certainly using them, not my fists.

Especially when I use Fists of Fury. It actually shows my fist weapons.

It’s just certain attacks where I am, ironically, punching that it does not show the fist weapons. Definitely using them though. They kinda replace my fists.

As other people and I have pointed out…we do use fist weapons, just not on 2 attacks.

When playing my windwalker monk, I’ve never seen my weapons leave their sheathed position on my back. She uses swords.

How do you punch someone…with a sword? The sword would get in the way, or you would stab yourself while you try.

You can use fist weapons during the monk animations, but that’s it. Seems logical.

You jab someone with a sword using the pointy bit at the end. Fists of furie could be a series of furious swipes. Etc…

Locking them to a single weapon type just makes the class boring.

Its hard to hit someone with your palm (tiger palm) when its wrapped around a hilt. Or hit them with your fist (fists of fury, dragon punch) with a blade in the way.

Fantasy monks have always pretty much stuck to unarmed fist attacks or bow staffs. It fits the genre to not attack with swords.

I just won’t play the class anymore.

real monks dont use swords.

Fix monk’s. Show fist weapons. Why do fist weapons even exist if we cant ever see them?
