Then dont que an waste time. What an idiotic thing to do.
This is BS. If that was the case it wouldnt take 30 minutes to get a match on a healer for BGs get teal.
Why I presented the solution of motivate via reward to stay lol.
I jsut had a wrath WG that went to utter crap. I stayed. I needed the kill 3 siege engines quest as that was the last of the week.
I needed the 10 shards (rest were done…only this eluded me), got the quest done eventually. then stayed for lingering honor lol. Deserter would have been much longer to take if I dumped out.
I grew out of it.
Because WoW has always been primarily a pve game .
its also not fun being verbally berated by your own team mates for being a “PvE carebear”, despite the fact that you might just simply be trying new things, and getting zero heals or rezzes all because you’re not in top-of-the-line PvP gear, with knowledge and experience in PvP.
i managed to snag a few holiday titles over the years from PvP sure, but its also caused me to develop a seeting hatred for PvP and PvP’ers entirely. any time Actiblizz tries to force PvP on us (I.E. free-for-all PvP zones in-game, required to do PvP for a legendary cloak/item, etc) i typically avoid it at all costs.
if they were to announce PvP is being retired at any point, i sure as hell ain’t shedding no tears.
too many pvp players. no thanks. hard pass
Endless cc.
The end.
Found other games that do capture the flag and arena type modes better.
The only appeal of WoW pvp was warmode (empty as hell) and large scale combat (too short for the que time).
I still pop into a game here and there, but WoW pvp feels like a dinosaur mode now compared to other offerings.
It still takes too much effort to get pvp gear and the pvp gear we can get relatively slowly 12+ weeks is horrible in PvE
If we could max out a set of scalewarden in a week without the time gating you would see a lot more ppl engaging in warmode. And also pVp
Also warmode should buff up the pve Lvl of pvp gear to something reasonable by default like 411 or 424 without a huge grind once the gear is bought.
If all i did was engage in pvp on my alts I would have terrible gear and no time to gather for proffessions or gold.
Pvp needs to reward much more than just tokens and honor.
Every expansion with new seasons has new weapons and armor. You might it want for an upgrade or you want it for transmog. Unfortunately you have to play a part of the game that sucks to get it. I like good books and beautiful jewelry but I think battlegrounds in World of Warcraft are rubbish. If I give it my all it’s to get the reward and to get closer to being able to stop doing battlegrounds for a time. There is no fun in it.
Toxicity - 10char
I used to pvp a lot didn’t ever go all that hard but it was fun. However around WoD/Legion is became noticeably harder to get into pvp the later you attempted to get into it in the expansion.
The slog that it is to get enough gear to start even having a chance to fight back isn’t fun. How there isn’t a cap/set of gear that players use will pvping to keep things level by now is beyond me.
Skill requirements and game knowledge required are much higher for PvP
You can buy a full starter set on the AH and full honor gearing takes 4-6 hours. Its not bad at all
As someone who used to PVP on wow exclusively in WOTLK and recently started again after a long break, some observations:
-
WoW battlegrounds are pretty stagnant, and they’re kind of “rolled or get rolled”. I don’t really feel like there’s much give and take.
-
It’s pretty punishing to start gearing in WoW, other games you can hit the ground more or less equal but in wow you don’t really have that.
-
Honestly it can feel a bit like a cluster, which is hard to manage from an experience pov.
What I do like about wow PVP:
- It’s feels a lot more dynamic
- Progression feels real, but honestly could do more on this.
Yeah, they’ve had crafted sets for some time now. It wasn’t good in the past. I’ll take your word for it, but I just avoid it. It isn’t really that fun any more to me, nor do I think it was ever actually fun to begin with for me.
So long as pvp is tethered to pve and vice-versa it will suck.
I remember when pvp had its own stats.
They need to bring that back, reduce healing in pvp, reduce cc time, cut down on debuffs, grant cc immunity for a bit after breaking cc (no more being permantly cc’d), and ban tank specs from all pvp entirely.
Heck, they need to simplify pvp too.
Have each class/spec (except Tank. Ban tanks from pvp. It’s never fun fighting a tank) have a pvp version which has greatly reduced abilities and its own pvp hotbar set up that you can toggle on and off to practice on training dummies or a special practice area. Would be way easier to balance and would quicken games and fights.
Then have everyone be given starter pvp gear when they, after getting a quest at max level, that won’t let them get one shotted.
Or give them starter pvp gear that scales for you from level 10, but only for pvp activities that you queue for.
Leave world pvp untouched. That’s always gonna be garbage.
Because it’s neither rewarding nor fun.
