Why doesn't WoW have vampires?

There are Undead, but they don’t drink blood like bread, they also don’t have healing powers like vampires. Every power would be useless against rapid regeneration.

Blood DKs are similar to vampires. Sanlayn are vampires. I think that’s about it.

Idk why they don’t have playable vampires.

In the Shadowlands trailer, Revendreth looked like it had vampire people, Not sure why they are not playable, though.

There was a guy in the old warlock mount quest that was a vampire’ish guy.

Because Undead in the Warcraft Universe were all depicted to be mindless and weak, as well as easily disposed of by a Shovel. Vampires are too overpowered, if someone attempt to attack them with a shovel as if they were mindless under, they have just enough strength to snatch the shovel away and just enough intelligence to return the favor.

WoW needs a vampiric option that effects your character’s overall appearance, pale skin, pointy ears, and glowing eyes.

Another note that WoW could learn from the Elderscrolls.

There are Vampirism themes in WoW’s lore that aren’t San’layn thankfully, had it with elves.

Did you know that the Vrykul were supposed to be a race of vampiric vikings? Another one of Metzen’s cool ideas that got scrapped. They did do a throwback to that with the Count in Stormheim though.

WoW does have vampires, you fight one in Icecrown, Blood Queen Lana’thel. There’s one in Stormheim, too, that you fight and kill.

All I’m wondering is “why does bread drink blood?”…

The 3 Blood Princes and Blood Queen Lanathel are WoW’s vampires. If Worgen are WoW’s werewolves, I’d say the San’layn are WoW’s vampires.

Fire trumps regeneration every time.

I agree. I’d like to see both playable vampires and werewolves (and no, not Worgen but actual werewolves).

ESO has them - they give powerful beneficial abilities but you pay for it in other ways. If I remember, vampires are very strong normally but are extremely susceptible to fire attacks.

And how your character becomes one is to be bitten by another player. That’s yer rpg right there.

There are some exceptions, Dracula himself took fire to the face.

Dreadlords are supposedly Vampires of some kind, at least originally from Warcraft 3 they were.

Funny. No “Worgens”, actual werewolves. There are no “actual werewolves”. They dont exist in “actuality”.

And who is to say if they existed they would not be just like WoW worgens ?

Same way wow dont have gnomes, have short people with big heads and parkinsons. not “actual gnomes”.

Also it doesnt have “actual elves”, just pointy ear tall humans with wrong waist to thigh proportions.

Anything might not be anything, like the original idealist philosophers used to say, everything in this reality is an imperfect copy of an ideal reality that exists in the minds of each person.

So anything might not be a given anything even if it is known to be such thing. That in itself means nothing.

I’d rather not be bitten by a vampiric bipedal cow…thank you.

I would like to be bitten by a vampire panda with this booty … lol

Before the blood DK’s got nerfed into tankdom, I had a glorious vampire knight! He cut through enemies like blades of grass and healed himself from the bloodshed. He feasted on the those left crippled by his power! Now his sword hits like a whiffle ball bat. So sad…

We still have a lot of vampiric stuff to do. And most of it still gives us the ability to tank a dozen mobs even easier than we tank one.

You just need to adapt to change. That is also something included in the “game” concept afaik.

San’layn is the closest thing to a typical vampire in WoW. And going forward it seem like blood magic is going to be death magic. So, it seem like high chance of them showing up in shadowlands too.

Blood Trolls did Blood Magic. Just saying.
