Why doesn't one expansion prior fall under legacy loot?

Does anyone know? I mean the real reason.

Because they don’t want people to just wait for the next expansion to farm content, it’s already bad enough as is. They generally want people to do the content when it’s available normally.

Legit, why?

Explain.

So better to leave it completely dead instead of putting some sort of incentive in it?

Literally said why.

Because it’s dumb, I’ve never been a fan of that because it discourages the very notion of an MMO to start with.

You can make a group. You know, do MMO stuff in an MMO.

Because legacy was set to 11 levels over the expansion cap. That’s why it typically takes two expansions to have something be classified as legacy.

No you didn’t.

Subjective and wrong. How does incentive to do content discourage the very notion of an MMO?

I don’t need a group, I’m farming DF mythics, which I can destroy solo.

Oh how fun, let’s make a group every week and maybe get one single piece every 1-2 months if I’m lucky. Haha no.

Yes I did.

Definitely not wrong, definitely subjective lol. Because MMOs were literally designed with the notion of players playing together.

Ok, so go do that lol. Huh?

Ok :man_shrugging:.

Design changes throughout the years.

Getting one piece of gear out of 4 mythics sucks.

Indeed, sometimes for the worse.

Probably but the chances of this ever changing is basically zero.

As stated above, it is set by character level and not the expansion you have installed. I suspect that a fair number of people don’t buy the new expansion immediately, if at all. They just wait until it gets included in the base game. That saves them $50-60 every two years.

For me, it’s for the better. Subjective.

You think? Since wow is ever changing? In Legion if I told you that players would be able to get mythic raid tier appearances in exclusively solo play, you’d have said the same thing.

They have identified that the people doing “old content” as their primary mode of activity is quite substantial and have for some reason chosen this path.

It is getting rather spiteful because there have now been events, e.g the trading post returning item vendor, that have been made inaccessible to those who like doing the old stuff and buy the expansion much later or just wait till it goes part of the base game.

But that would fall into the category of doing the content while it’s normally available, as I said lol.
