Why doesn't my new dagger count as a 'one-handed melee weapon'?

I received ‘Stillwater’s Dagger’ as a quest reward and equipped it in the main hand slot. The ‘Dispatch’ ability was then greyed out with a message ‘Requires one-handed melee weapon’. I was able to get around it by moving the dagger to the off hand slot. What gives?

Also why does my combo point bar randomly disappear?

Because daggers aren’t in the one-handed weapon category. Daggers are their own weapon category. For outlaw, you can’t use a dagger in your MH.

As for the combo points disappearing, this is a common bug all rogues have been experiencing. Reload UI or log off and log back on

Okay thank you for the info!

Can’t use daggers, yet can use fists weapons in main hand.

Logic at its finest.

It really doesn’t make much sense.

Mut and Sub both refer to daggers but combat’s the only spec that has a General Category of weapons that basically means “Anything except for Daggers…”

God, when did this class become so damned Complicated?! Talk about fixing something that wasn’t broken.

Daggers are not really meant to be for the Outlaw Spec. With Outlaw, you want to hit hard in one strike, not multiple strikes being weaker. Assassin and Sub use daggers as they are meant to be striking fast and swift. Nothing complicated, just new and will take some getting used to, but it has been this way since 8.0.1.

And every rogue specific quest reward has been a dagger.

I am sporting the fist weapon from grong right now lol

Are you useing the blizz combo bar? If so maybe try useing an add on.
I use weak auras and haven’t had it disappear.o
