Why doesnt autoloot work most of the time anymore?

Is it just me or does autoloot not work properly like half the time? Im constantly having to click mobs 2-3 times to get them to actually loot. I know this bug has existed forever, but it seems to have been dialed up exponentially with TWW.

I cant be the only one experiencing this (or maybe I am and there’s some weird/obscure fix for it that Im not privy to?)

Definitely not the only one. I’ve experienced this too.

Happens very regularly.

It’s annoying, don’t care if I sound spoilt, but looting is bread and butter stuff, shouldn’t be broken.

Inb4 those fanboys telling you it is working as intended.

PS: ya it happens a lot, auto looting not auto’ing. World of bugcraft

I hope they give looting an option like Torghast eventually where you just run nearby and the loot deposits into your bags (or maybe even if you kill it the loot can go into your bags no matter how far away your character is)

They could do something like lotro where you don’t even loot, all the loot goes into a queue and you take your loot out of that, basically works like a secondary inventory but with a one hour limit.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the looting issue is related to server lag in some way and I know what you all are talking about even without having played since the launch of the expansion.

i’m almost positive it is. it happens to me out in the world but i never see this problem in dungeons.

Diablo has pets that collect your gold, that’s what I’m talking about.

Have a pet that goes out and loots everything for you, that’d be the life!

It breaks because of the tiniest amount of network jitter flips a 0 to a 1 or vise versa and the game thinks it was normal loot as a result… there is an Addon that fixes it… i think it was called Plunder… I’ not at my computer at the moment, but I can check my addons when I get home to find the right one if you want. Home now, the addon is called Plumber

about as hard as fixing shadow pan brawl? Here’s a blue post back in 2017 referencing a mystical “hotfix” for the issue. Think back to how much the world has changed since 2017, that’s almost a decade. There are kids who were entering highschool without being able to participate in a shadow pan brawl, who are now graduating university with bachelor’s degrees, and in that time, they have not been able to queue a single shadow pan brawl, yet it hasn’t even been removed from the rotation?

Then how wasn’t this as much of an issue 20 years ago when we had way more latency and way worse network connections? Thats kind of a bad excuse, but I will look into the addon! thanks!

It has been an on-going bug/issues/feature for quite some time… much like you have to walk away and retarget an NPC to talk to them again…

Basic WoW functionality for years that is no longer working well.

Zero to do w/it. Seems reasonable but those dots don’t connect.

Seems more reliable when you left click loot (turn on interact with left click).

And haven’t used the modifier to manual loot recently for another ability that seems to “stick” to your loot interaction.

Ya its like if I loot too fast or something it wont do it sometimes.

Yeah, I started noticing it in DF, but it’s much more frequent in TWW. Super annoying.

Disabling all “Interact Key” features in the interface options (including the sound) seems to have greatly reduced my auto-loot bug occurrences.

The whole autoloot bug showed up about the same time a bunch of accessibility features were added to the game, so I figured they were probably to blame.

Plumber addon also apparently fixes it.
