If the horde has set up a council, why hasn’t the alliance?
The High King title is inherently autocratic, and takes less power away from each member of the alliance and places it solely on one person… Anduin, the alliance needs a council too, seems Anduin would have actually been downcfor this vs. wielding all of this power, especially during “peace”

Because I think the idea is to make the two factions less similar. Which isn’t served by just having one copy the other when it decides to do something different.
If the Horde were to jump off a bridge tomorrow, would you suggest we do the same? They’re doing a council because they have no one who is both fit and willing to take responsibility.

Because Blizzard thinks they’re already a council.
Don’t forget that God-Emperor Anduin is something that Blizzard has always denied - despite the fact that he’s almost always shown as the final decision maker on all matters, they continue to insist that he’s not actually in charge.

No I just find it humorous that the alliance has become more like the horde with one leader dictating everything to the other races. The alliance is a coalition, each race is equal and sovereign within its own right… or should be.

The alliance is already a council high king is only like the military leader it’s why all the other leaders of the alliance do what they want

Are you sure? Iam expecting some major finger waging at Tyrande and Genn from Anduin. Just saying the power needs to be removed from the “high” king by this “council” we apparently have.

Because Emperor Anduin can do no wrong… we should all trust him explicitly… cough

Genn and tyrande finger wagged anduin this coming patch the finger wag isn’t exclusive to the high king
If rubber-stamping a bunch of decisions that others have made already makes him an Emperor, than he is guilty as charged.
Because Anduin is the symbol of anti toxicity masculinity.

Yes… but nothing will be done beyond that, a council could demand more concessions from the horde for the peace treaty. Instead everyone on the alliance wronged by the horde is screwed over and the hatred will grow. No one got a say besides Anduin.

Blizzard wants a blue horde without calling it one while apparently desiring a red alliance.

Because as much as it is a meme here, the High King within lore still doesn’t actually rule any of the member factions and thus any decision Anduin does make he does have to have to go ahead from the other leaders.
The problem isn’t that anyone isn’t allowed to challenge Anduin, its that they simply don’t.

Tyrande has challenged him it sounds, rightfully so. It would seem to be in both Anduin and Tyrandes interest to regain and start moving night elves back to their homes… especially since we “won”
If the peace treaty is in limbo because Tyrande won’t sign it, then good.

Honestly, at this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if Shandris give us a Bounty quest to go kill Tyrande. Rewards 73 Silver and a Blue-Item. Either her bow or her Glaive. Then we get some Dialogue between Shandris and Anduin about how she was consumed by vengeance, and how she was beyond saving.
Then Anduin “allows” Shandris to take up the mantle of a new High Priestess.
Edit: After she converts to the Light, of course… Because Elune totally “Abandoned” them. You know…

Because Anduin gotta have a huge “burden” to bear so that people can comment on it and how great he is.

BfA has made me hate Anduin so much… I liked him at first.

Like when the King of Stormwind replaced the legal heir to Ironforge with a council that was more amenable to him?
