If fire can have ring of frost and ice block? Serious question.
well fire does the most dmg so it also needs the most survivability and utility!
You work for blizzard don’t you
Cold snap for a second Ice Block, but also works for other frost spells. That answers cauterize.
Cone of Cold for Dragon’s breath, but it’s not really the same utility. The main problem is the interrupt is better than the snare in keys.
Pfft. Stupid fire and frost mages arguing over utility. Obviously arcane has you both beat with personal cooldowns, like displacement…
Well at least I have slow and… Supernova?
Screw you guys, I’m going home.
I feel like Frost’s snare kit needs an overhaul. Despite it having access to CoC, Arcane just kites way better with Chrono Shift because it both slows enemies and increases its own speed.
But yeah basically, Frost’s “answer” to DB is CoC, and its replacement for Cauterize is Cold Snap. DB also serving as a pseudo-stun is just heaps better than an AoE snare though, especially when so many other classes have other means to help a tank kite/peel via knockbacks, stuns, etc.
I do think one talent in the RoF tier should just be baseline for Frost: either Ice Nova or Ring, just because it makes sense (spec fantasy-wise) for a Frost mage to not have to expend a talent point to access those.
Ya but at least you make up for it with SICK single target dam… oh wait nvm im so sorry
Because we are second class citizens. You can’t have kings without peasants. We have fireblast though muahahaha.
Well one of the problem with spec/class balancing in WoW always been the fact that blizzard seems to not take into account class utility.
A class/spec can have tier1 dps and tier 1 utility at the same. If you take Holy pally its even worst, they have T1 healing, utility and DPS.
If you take a game like EQ,EQ2 or Rift. They are built in a way were you need 1 or 2 utility class in your group and those class with tool have lesser damage.
But WoW never been that way. One class can just have everything and the rest just bite the dust.
Meanwhile Arcane has none of those things and the only utility ability it does have access to, namely Supernova, is an extremely undertuned talent which shares a row with one of the most potent AoE talents available to Arcane. Make it make sense, pls.
We have a really high parse on Sludgefist!..
That’s like saying SPriest does well in multidot situations… Of course we did well on Sludgefist ._.
Frost needs Deep Freeze back. No if, ands or buts about it. Fire has DB and then arcane should have Super Nova Baseline but reworked as a continuous damaging vortex ending with a knock back effect after like 3-4 seconds.
Because their philosophy is 1/3 is good enough “play fire and stop asking”
I haven’t laughed so hard at a comment in a while I love it. Frost use to be able to cauterize I miss those days.
i agree that frost should have dragon’s breath but does it really need cauterize too? i mean cold snap gives frost mages a second ice block. at that point, all three specs should have access to cauterize and cold snap.
Would it be as simple as giving CoC an interrupt and maybe a snare to DB while Arcane gets Supernova as baseline ?
Honestly I don’t mind Cauterize being Fire-only as Frost and Arcane have their own counterparts to it (Cold Snap and Greater Invi)
Frost does comparable dam, but if you have a 4 second go. Fire can get the kill, As where frost does steady dam, but in a pvp environment, steady dam can be useless against good teams who will just heal through it. Frost needs a rework or perhaps deepfreeze…
Hmm think about what you are saying asking why frost doesn’t have more fire skills lol.
Why do things like this always have to go this way.
No one asked about pvp lol
