World of Warcraft has rewarding content that is too difficult for most players, and it always has and it always will, because that is part of the core design of this game.
I’m disgusted by the audacity of some players here to come and say that this content shouldn’t exist, simply because they are incapable of doing it themselves.
There is plenty of content in the game that is accessible to everyone. That last 20 item level though? No, you can’t have that. That is only for the thousands of people for whom the content is not too difficult.
It’s an old game with players horned skills for almost 2 decades. I can’t imagine new players learning how to do wow contents that are challenging. I’d quit.
Nobody except a handful of people are requesting the removal of challenging content. Not sure why you felt compelled to make a thread about it lol
Yeah, except the problem with any discussion surrounding difficulty in World of Warcraft is that nobody in favor of difficult content wants to ever address the nuance surrounding it and would prefer to paint everything as black and white.
Put plainly, whenever someone complains about content being too hard, those who participate in content would prefer to not address (or even critically gauge, for that matter) why people may feel that way about it, especially when WoW has no shortage of issues in its design that make it exceedingly more difficult than it needs to be lol
Instead, we just get varying, ad nauseam responses of “skill issue” because I suppose it makes people feel superior to denigrate others lmao
I quit when Legion launched so I didn’t get a taste of M+
I’ll admit it was daunting at first but I’ve been slowly working my way up and it’s not too bad now that I’m in 8 and 9s. Can’t say how I feel about 10 because I haven’t tried one yet.
This is how game were before the participation trophy concept. Now kids expect to be able to have everything in the game for little effort. hence people buying carries to the point they had to dedicate a channel to it.
Sickening what’s its done to MMO’s. These games are literally dying.
I never thought I would have everything in the game. And I was in a top rated guild during vanilla/bc/wotlk… and even then I didn’t expect to have all the top stuff.
a big part of an mmo is you beating the hardest content with your group just to flex to the others
whats the point of a mythic mount for example? to show off so everyone knows ‘‘you beat the current mythic raid’’
the game needs the challenging content but it also needs the casual or people who can’ beat it, otherwise the hardcore players wouldn’t have anyone to flex and all lose its meaning
Can i just point out that it’s ok to have content that isn’t for you? It’s ok to not have mythic level gear. It’s ok to have a handful of cosmetics essentially locked out for you.
I’m a Heroic raider and I refuse to do M+. I used to do M+ and used to push high end raids, but that just isn’t for me anymore. I am perfectly fine with that and accept I won’t get mythic transmog or ilvl… except that i actually kind of do get more now as the crest system let’s me on occasion get a mythic transmog from an ilvl upgrade so that’s actually a bonus to me.
But it’s perfectly ok to have a stopping point where you don’t want to go any further. You don’t have to push for the best gear. Just get the best gear for the content that you actually do. And if you don’t find enjoyment in that, there’s a solid chance you wouldn’t find enjoyment in mythic raiding and high end keys anyway, and maybe you just don’t enjoy WoW, which is ok.
So let the top people have their modes where they can challenge themselves. You just find contentment in what you can do.
The forums are a small but vocal part of the community… Most of the time, unless something really major happens that pisses off the player base. Real ID is one example.
Of course it should exist. But top gear used to be obtainable through 15 keys in the vault, which I guess is the equivalent of an 8 key now. It is 10 keys this season, which is equivalent to what a 20 key used to be.
