Why does wow have anniversaries instead of birthdays

it is a celebration of wow existing

not wow being married to existing

Birthdays are the anniversary of a birth.

Now I have this weird image of Rob Pardo birthing wow while Morheim and Metzen stand on either side of him going “push Rob! One more push!”

I need coffee

Oh and Kaplan is the doctor going “I can see the head!”

Oh jeez, it’s too early in the morning for that image XD oh well

God doesn’t have a birthday and we don’t celebrate His nor a anniversary

This thoughtful question intrigued me, so I the only thing I could come up with is maybe it is the anniversary of Warcraft marrying into the MMO family. Technically we had the Warcraft stories and lore forever, but we finally got to experience them in an MMO format? That’s all I got.

Shrug :man_shrugging:

an anniversary is a yearly celebration. while most people do associate “anniversary” with weddings, it’s not limited to that. a birthday technically is also an anniversary, celebrating a birth annually.
