So my Balance Druid tier set is now boring? It’s tied to my base abilities.
I have no idea how balance plays or what those players value.
So you made a general statement without even knowing how things currently work. Not all of the tier sets this tier are for late talents. Mine is quite interesting and different. Which makes your comment nonsensical at best. There’s a lot they can do with set bonuses.
Yes I made a general statement based on my experiences, where the hell have you been?
Yeah, and i agree. They seem to get that right with some specs. The last two retribution ones have been great, and fit nicely into my baseline gameplay. But then on the flip side there’s enhancement, and them turning sundering into a dps cooldown, meaning i can no longer just use it for its amazing interrupt ability.
Without thinking about the fact that your one example isn’t how it has to be and they can absolutely get creative with base abilities and first row talents.
I feel like the community complains about borrowed power but isn’t that what the tier sets are? Just more borrowed power? Getting stuff that makes you feel stronger feels good, but if they’re doing their balancing around the assumption that you have the set anyway are you really any stronger for having it? I dont know, I just don’t get why people like them so much.
Hasn’t Sundering always been a dps cooldown…?
Feels a bit like folks calling “Summon Infernal” a CC-ability. I mean, sure, so if you can time it to be useful for that as well but… it has always been a dps cooldown though.
Tier is borrowed power, yes. But it’s not a borrowed power SYSTEM. There’s a big difference. Tier doesn’t make you log in every day to grind AP so you don’t fall behind, along with all of the other convoluted bs that went along with it.
Didnt have to do a daily grind for onyx annulet, shadowlands legendaries, azerite gear, corruption powers,
Most borrowed power “systems” didnt have a daily grind. People 100% complained about them still.
It’s almost like having literally every set bonus be about Ice Lance is boring as hell. But sure, whine about the one tier where they emphasize some of the capstone talents instead.
No. It does a bit of damage and incapacitates. The latter effect is far more useful than a bit of damage. But the last tier made it also boost your mastery and damage. So that became its primary purpose.
Literally none of those were borrowed power systems. So no, they didn’t. The Artifact weapons and HoA were borrowed power systems.
Let’s a least learn the difference between a system and a piece of gear. Tier is borrowed power. What you mentioned is borrowed power. Those are not SYSTEMS that required AP.
People complained about Legiondaries and their likenesses because they were crap implementation.
ideally they can take the good set bonuses and bake them into a spec/class
How would you prefer they mix up each season?
Tier sets are part of the fun.
Make tier set bonuses an enchant? Release a new one each season but if you prefer last season you could enchant it onto current ilvl gear?
Talent trees have always been false choices, ever since their inception. People rail on FFXIV for ‘one-dimensional classes’ but there is always a ‘correct’ talent build for any class in this game and the rest are ‘incorrect’.
Got it.
We are changing the definition to something I have never seen referenced.
K.
“system” is a vague enough definition anything fits within it. And when people complained about borrowed power, it was never only about AP type grinds. It was anything borrowed power.
The Onyx Annulet, for example. Was decried as borrowed power, and bad.
No definition was ever changed. That’s how it’s always been. Borrowed power SYSTEMS are entirely different. Always have been.
And not a borrowed power SYSTEM.
I already explained it. I can’t be any more clear.
They also never told us some builds would be completely useless either and that we cannot build something and use tier sets at the same time.
Not sure there, what did you expect? For all builds to be worth the same and for tier sets to only be passives that would never affect any of your spells? Like a +100 main stat and call it a day?
