I got a group together the second time I did the Dark Rider ones, and it was a little more fun. It took about an hour and a half all said.
Maybe it felt cool in P1, because it was new, but this time it just feels like questing.

Such a bizarre trend to equate critique with crying and pouting. Ironically childish.
Such a disingenuous play to try equate valid critiquing with the whining thats happening on these forums. Câmon, its gone from complaining, whether valid or not, to feet stomping and dissing.
Imagine having a mind that can only equate ideas to child rearing instead of being able to have an adult conversation. I feel embarrassed for you.
What? Save some of that embarrassment for yourself.
Then play gw2? Personally i absolutely hate that game because its too busy. But guess what, im not riding the gw2 forums whining that i hit cap in 2 days and am now bored.
If its not for you, its not for you.
Blizzard did what the majority of the community wanted
well now
The worst is how much time/gold investment per character.
My 40 rogue has so much time invested into him, plus all the gold. The mount, plus professions. All raid consumables, plus when I go for the Leatherworking helmet and even the engineering belt, which are like 150g each.
How can I possibly bring a second character up? Another 100g mount, 150g profession epic, plus consumables, and all the time to level/gear up? Sounds like Iâd rather powerbomb my monitor through my table.
Exp takes longer, stuff too expensive, raid is hard so less people pugging, no gdkps for good players to carry, runes all have to be googled instead of naturally getting them in phase 1, pvp balance doesnât exist
I think the main thing is phase 1 was fun. It put fun before everything.
Phase 2 is tilting heavily towards the old school grindy/sweaty style MMO which I think people arenât playing SoD for.
Phase 1 had a super quick and easy raid and people liked it. Every 3 days you could crush a raid with multiple characters and have fun. The profession epics were easy to get and anyone who wanted them could get them.
Now in Phase 2 we have this long raid that pugs are struggling with, and barely anyone is actually going to get the profession epics because they donât have the time/gold to get them.
Itâs just the opposite of what phase 1 was. Itâs not casual/fun anymore. Itâs grindy and boring.
the whole season is change from the traditional classic wow⌠what are you on? quit trolling dude, you arent advocating change youâre promoting taking it away
Yes, GW2 is horrible because you⌠checks notes have a lot of things you can choose to do any time you feel like it, and all of them are rewarding and satisfying with none of them being required. Only play your favorite content, or mix it up and do something different every day or even every hour.
The horror. The. Horror.
Itâs much better for SoD to be log in, raid, log out until your next raid window. I would hate to be able to have content all day long that is rewarding and fun. That would be awful.
I feel like the leveling is what is making less people to play. Just boost it by like 30% and weâre fine.
Itâs the grind.
Letâs say you have a level 15 character you want to bring up to 40.
Ok, so you have to level it from 15-40, which is going to take some time. Itâs not going to be very fun either because youâre going to dungeon grind AGAIN.
Then what do you do at 40? Level up professions. How long does that take? How much gold?
You need a mount too. 100g.
You need consumables to raid. How much are they per raid? You also need to secure a raid spot for your alt or try to PUG which apparently is awful for Gnomer.
You also need to start grinding Ashenvale on that character for your WSG rep if you want to min/max and get the WSG gear. Ashenvale event is a ghost town a lot of the time now. Good luck with that.
Itâs just such a bloody chore now that I think a lot of people are just sticking to one character, which sucks.
I want to play an alt but I donât want to go through any of the grinds and I certainly donât want to have to spend a ton of gold on another character.
Meta locks are not unkillable. Complete skill issue if you canât kill them.
it really shocks me that the viability of pugging a raid drastically went down a week after they banned the most popular method of pugging in history,
Between the WSG/AB rep grinds, buying a mount, Farming gold/questing at 40, finishing Tailoring, then noticing itâs going to be another 15+25+50ish Gold for the patterns and non-tailor made mats for the epic craft that was a hassle to unlock anyhow - All while trying to remind myself this is a temp stop and I should stock up on FAPs/Mats for Pots for 60 while theyâre still not inflated to Naxx level prices
Itâs just too damn much. I had 6 characters running BFD on lock out and had a blast with all of em, Aintnoway Iâm leveling them all to 40 to go through this 5 more times. And pretty much everyone in my guild has the same opinion - So rather than making alt groups for VC/WC/SFK and re-running out to redridge as horde for runes weâre just farming gold as efficiently as possible then logging off to play other games rather than even attempt to deal with having alts this phase
Yep exactly.
They ruined the fun and turned it into this meat grinder.
Itâs terrible.
You canât just casually get on an alt and have fun. Itâs just awful.
I feel like they ruined it honestly. Itâs depressing.
They extended the grind for literally everything just because they want people to play more because folks got bored 6 weeks into phase 1, yet itâs having the opposite effect. Instead of sticking around for these long, drawn out grinds, people are just leaving.
Why are the new profession epics such a long grind AND a massive gold sink?
Why is the armor in Gnomer jacked up through the roof to the point where itâs miserable for tanks and melee classes, and makes pugging it a brutal chore?
Why are the rep grinds for WSG/AB so long and terrible?
Why didnât they add any new avenues for leveling from 25-40 like they said they would?
Why didnât they add new loot to these dungeons for some classes to get?
oh ya my bad i forgot to shadow prot while I stunlock them for 8 secs and still cant get them near death cause siphon works while they do nothing bro if you dont know how scuffed that match up is for Warrs/rogues. Casters eating good getting the laziest ez bake oven runes possible
This epiphany occurred much earlier than that.
2008 roughly when patch 2.0.1 came out and all the damage meters started getting fancy.
