Why does this phase feel so bad?

Worse class balance, horrid leveling, pvp event. It just feels like a huge step back on most fronts

I think you guys need to start understanding that this is now a raid log game

Unironically true.
Wish it didn’t take me this long to work that out. I figured it was only 90% a raid logging game. But it’s 100% a raid logging game.

There is literally 0 point in playing this outside of a raid logging.

I leveled 6 characters to 25 in phase 1.

Maxed professions on 3.

Hit exalted with WSG on 2.

In phase 2, I’m one and done. Everything feels way too daunting to do multiple times.

The class changes they decide to go with are what’s ruining it for me. I was so hyped to hear they were doing class changes but these runes feel like they were designed by first time WoW players tbh

I actually love this phase. I had a blast questing with friends. Ran 4/6 with my guild in the first gnomer, were still gonna go back before tue reset to finish it. The raid was a blast so far and I enjoy it a lot more then the snoozefest bfd was. Despite the phaseing problems in STV, I love the event.

The only major issue with this phase for me is the burst pvp meta. I hope they fix it.

If they manage to fix pvp this might be my favourite phase of SoD

Because you’re still asleep, please wake up, your family misses you, its been like this since the accident seven years ago.

But really its because you aren’t stopping to check if you’re having fun until you’re exhausted and so you assume it was all just exhausting and not worth it.

More like it’s pointless to do. If you had near bis gear from BFD, you hardly need to replace any of it for any reason in phase 2 when you get to level 40. You grind to 40, you wear just about the same gear, and then raid log Gnomer.

It feels daunting not because its time consuming or difficult. It’s daunting because it’s time consuming, yet easy, yet pointless.

Because damage is oppressive and leaves zero space for skill expression

right? and the balance part is just crazy to me legit they cant make a right choice in that matter Meta locks being unkillable from one button then one button spam a channeled skill casue why not, Priests legit being still crazy high on DPS while also being unkillable :sob:
They legit are lost

it feels perfectly fine.

i think the players have crossed another softcap of entitlement, somehow.

It’s season of retail raid logging. Anything meaningful to do outside of raid logging has been trivialized, and gifted away, by the designers.

Because you’re a warrior. There, answered.

That is true, but even side projects like professions seem so daunting now. The grime encrusted object turn-ins for BoP profession materials make getting epic crafting items on multiple characters a nightmare. Unless you buy gold I guess?

except you’ll have a geared raider hauling in loot he doesn’t need (a lot of the items aren’t BOP) and by then more people will have the raid cleared and pugs will be more manageable, was amazed that my alts could pick up BFD gear fresh at 25 in phase one once the me firsts calmed down.

This is the blackest pill.

WoW in general has been rotted to the core by Parse Culture.

The community just isn’t interested in the ‘good ole days’.

Everything we do in the game now is in service to ‘make number go up’ and comparing sizes with strangers online.

The new rune discoveries frankly are bland.

How many classes have the “go to campsite in desolace, go to booty bay, go to arathi, fight level 40 npc” rune discovery?

How many classes have the “kill 7 dark riders” rune discovery?

What’s worse is outside of like… Melee hunter? they’re all uninspired. None of them change how you enjoy your character any.

Runes should have been implemented in the same path that the class skill-books were… Found along average gameplay but slightly out of the way, couple hoops to jump through, and then a neat QOL increase.

They’ve made acquiring runes into those long unrewarding frustrating quest chains that are tedious to go through and send you back and forth between places non stop. There’s zero enjoyment in acquiring them… And they’re the same for alts so you get to repeat them all. Feelsbadman.

Who said anything about parsing?

You can chill with the boys every week and have fun on wow, there is LITERALLY nothing wrong with an MMO being a raid log game.

Infact I’d say it’s pretty great.

All of them.

I feel like having 1 that everyone has like this, or like the Ratchet one from Phase 1 is OK, but I did enjoy the rune adventures more in P1 than in P2.

I don’t mind this, personally. For sure Phase 1 runes were very game-changing for several classes or specs, and P2 runes much less so. I could kind of go either way here though. I like for the most part that the classes I play feel more or less like I expect them to, and am OK that there are changes for classes/specs that I don’t, like Paladin (though, had they toned the changes down a considerable amount, I probably would be playing paladin also).

I’m actually not a fan of melee hunter, or the P2 runeset for hunters either.
