I feel like WoW caters to the elite in end game content and it causes the majority to be frustrated and end up quitting.
PVE:
Mythic raiding is locked to your server until 100 alliance and horde guilds go 10/10. Which almost never happens before the next raid comes out (it happened in CN thanks to China - Thanks mates). This forces people to transfer to populated servers to even get a shot at it. It doesn’t support flex raiding and requires you to have 20 people… Also, you get locked to a single raid ID like we are playing in Vanilla…
WHY?!?! Why not allow cross-server mythic raiding from the start, let it be flex raid, and make it so its based on the bosses you kill like normal/heroic, and not raid ID? The elite will still be the best in their niche no life groups.
PVP:
To get the best PVP gear you have to have a rating of 2100.
WHY?!?!? So the pro’s can flash their gear and stomp on under-geared people? If the rating restriction is removed, more people will have the best PVP gear and be on an even playing field. The pros will still dominate, because they are just plain better at the game. Why make the casuals have lower stats because they cannot get to 2100?
I do not understand. I’ve lost raiders because they tire of waiting for pugs for mythic progression, only to wipe repeatedly because we have to explain the fight 10 times and they have to wipe through it 10 times to understand the mechanics. Because we are wiping other pugs leave, which creates a vicious time wasting circle of bringing in pugs slowly… It wastes a lot of our raid time. if it was flex raid we would just go with what we have online and have more fun.
What is the reason for these restrictions and how does it help this 17 year old game to stay relevant and not be a game people come back to for a month or so, get bored, and quit again? I think if end game content catered more to the majority, the game would keep more subscriptions and we would have a larger player base to choose from for all in-game activities.
I said if you are unable to do what it means necessary to be a gladiator/cutting edge raider, then don’t, you can still enjoy the game elsewhere
Seeing mythic raiders/gladiators with their mythic/elite pvp sets have the right to wear those because they put their effort to get that gear
If you get eye candy over the stats you see these players have, It should make you realize “man I’d like this kind of gear, I should try to learn what it takes to do this”
Everyone on this game has the opportunity to get to the best available gear, not everyone can do end game content so you substitute to whatever you’re best at
If the only reason you’d want to play is to be a top-level player, and you don’t have enough time to commit to it, then yeah, you’re going to end up disappointed either way.
But plenty of people play the game at their own level and have fun with it. It doesn’t have to be some blind race to the top. You can actually enjoy the game a little.
The majority of players are normal/heroic raiders, mid level key players and PvP dabblers.
Mythic raiding affects the majority of raiders in exactly zero ways (except maybe the false narratives on viability that mythic dps charts push).
PvPrs want to have their cake and eat it too. They want gear progression while also complaining that gear progression is bad for PvP. Also no one complains about PvP gear once they have it.
So let’s say we cannot be a top level raiding guild because we cannot consistently get 20 people online to do mythic. We get about 17-18. Our raid should clear heroic in the first month or 2 that it’s out and then what? Quit until the next raid comes out?
Why not allow mythic to be flex raided, cross server, and not locked to raid ID? I don’t understand. It doesn’t hurt anyone.
You can only pug on your server for mythic which extremely narrows the pool of players you can pull from. So your 3 hours of raid time turns into an hour or more of waiting instead of putting time into progression.
Our raid has 20 players, but we have all have kids and lives. When people cannot come because of life it would be nice to flex raid instead of waiting forever or just not raiding that night.
I guess Mythic is not for us then, it’s just sad because I see all of my players leaving the game eventually because of these restrictions. We are a bunch of dads with jobs. We don’t have time to sit on and recruit. We mostly raid log and play one or two other nights a week. But, we have all played for 10+ years and are good at the game. We want to do the end game content because it is challenging, but the time investment outside of the raid, which could be completely resolved by flexraid/cross-realm-pugging/no raid id lock, holds us back.
