When people get corrupted by the Void, they grow eyes and tentacles and stuff.
But the Void is nothingness. Shouldn’t it remove body bits instead of adding body bits?
Shouldn’t it turn people into slendermans?

The Void represents chaos, hence why it is opposed by the Titans who represent order. The Titans want your body to conform to their standard plan of two arms, two legs, one head. The Void wants your body to be free of that constraint. In the extreme, that means fleshy masses that glorp around everywhere, but as a compromise, they’re willing to start with extra appendages and tentacles.
I think is something from lovecraft’s, put tentacles in monsters evoke a sense of alienness and unsettling association with the unknown.
I think it’s the work TTS Tzeentch.
Specifically the TTS version, who plays a children’s card game to decide the fate of souls, worlds, and the universe. Also can’t make up his mind on anything.
I’m fairly sure Disorder (AKA Fel stuff) is the opposite of Order ![]()
The void is helpful! So sweet and considerate. Now you can see better around you, with eyes behind your head! Now you can hold five things at once, with your three extra tentacle arms!
I feel really bad for 6 torso tommy and that dude who’s a torso with 5 legs. A foot for a head?! he’s got a foot for a head.
Fel (Chaos) is opposed to Arcane (Order).
Void (Shadow) is opposed to Holy (Light).
The effects of the Void on the body are just further proof of the dangers of Eldritch Lean. Stay away from it, it just makes you tired and gives you a fetish for tentacles and feet.
There was a cynical answer I could’ve given, but I’d rather be silly.
Honestly Void and Light are poorly defined as greater forces.
There was a brief mention of Light wanting everything to go a certain way while Void wanted to try every future all at once. But very little of how we see them act supports this, and even if it did that isn’t terribly different from Order vs Chaos which is already the theme for Arcane and Fel.
I think Blizzard is intentionally avoiding digging too deep into what these forces are actually about so they can keep making void and light flavored bad guys without thinking too hard about it.
The Void heard some people’s desire for a longer appendage so it gave it to them. Just in a Jinn/Monkey’s Paw kind of way.
I think it does both, lol.
Like, those void-corrupted Draenei/Broken are definitely skinnier than normal ones.
It looks like the Void is actively breaking this guy down into something else.
It probably takes your flesh and moves it around elsewhere, or turns your feet into arms, you eyes into ears, that kind of horrific stuff.
The void consumes.
Excuuuuuse the void if it doesn’t know how to use a knife and fork to consume more politely than shoveling stuff into its mouth via tentacles.
I mean… No. Not even kind of. Slenderman are actually the opposite of the Void. As the Old God’s are direct representations of The Void (they are beings torn from The Void itself and thrown throughout the universe in the hopes one would corrupt a world seed) the eyes/tentacles/mouths/many-heads are all canon facettes of The Void.
So, why would accepting The Void 's power not play into these themes that have been established as long as WoW has existed? However your other game portrays void magics is irrelevant because WoW has established what their Void is. Well, at least for the purposes of this discussion.
lol… This is good and accurate! Where do I place the order for extra arms?
The void mutates.
The void dimension is empty BECAUSE they give away all their eyes and teeth and tentacles and stuff. They’re TOO GENEROUS.
This is also inaccurate. As Blizz has long established that (as previous comment pointed out) the Void is direct opposition to the Light. And Chaos and Order fall under these two larger blankets, Fel stands between Fire and Light if I’m remembering the illustration proper
Update:
I was remembering incorrectly, just checked the Illustration and it does appear Void and Order sit next to each other while Light and Fire (respectively) oppose them.
I think it’s because we’ve come to associate the Old Gods with the Void. The Void itself doesn’t add tentacles. It’s a place of void energy and shadows. But the Old Gods were sent to dominate Azeroth and Aeroth instead gave them free will, powerful bodies, and a desire for freedom from their masters. The Old Gods happily dominated the world instead of turning it over to Dimensius. Now the Old Gods “curse-of-fleshed” forms are what we associate with void. The Old Gods themselves are the ones that give extra limbs to strike with, extra armor to defend, and extra eyes through which they can see.
Because the void is cool
