Why does the system remove quoted posts?

Question is in the title. Why does the system automatically remove SOME quoted posts?

The system seems to hate it when people quote an entire post, but it doesn’t do a good job of enforcing that rule.

Ya, I don’t get it. It removes some, but not all. Even short quoted posts are removed.

who knows

Let’s see…

My guess is it removes it if you quote the whole post, it’s the only thing you quoted, and it’s the post right before your post.

Its honestly beyond dumb, I really hate it especially when people like to make a habit of deleting their posts and then your response is super out of context.

I get why they did it though, because some people were quoting MASSIVE blocks of text in the previous post but they could have instead done a “click here to read more” thing instead of just removing your quote entirely.

I’ve seen that on other forums. It’s really nice.

I mean, the tech is already here. If you do a partial quote a player can click on the partial quote to see the full post so it makes no sense why they didn’t choose to go that route and instead force edit your post and remove full quotes.

Its so dumb.
