Wow has more overall subs but ff14 I think has more active players.
We donât even have any data on WoW subs though.
Literally the only data we have on WoW is the active playerbase, which is projected to be 1.2 million active players. This is because itâs impossible to know the sub count, only who logs in for raids etc.
They can play both and with FF14 queues being a big issue for them, you must provide content to your public.
Itâs estimated wow has 100 million subs but ff14 has 25 million. So if we go by estimate wow is still on top
I would, if I could get past the wall of 2002, AKA Login (Savage).
I hate to say this but that attitude is what killed games like Wildstar.
Companies that say âwe donât want your kindâ fail.
Chinese WoW players are equally WoW players to those in the US, Europe, or the rest of the world. People donât know this, but checking on WoW servers from the Chinese data centers, China is the single biggest playerbase of WoW players.
Everyone constantly excludes them from discussing how big WoW really is.
WoW is still very popular and they have conventions for WoW in China. Itâs a very popular game there, more so than in Europe and the US today.
I would guess thatâs where a lot of the data gets skewed because of ignoring the Chinese players.
If you like it so much go play it, why are you here? People telling me about FF on a WoW forum make me want to play it even less.
The biggest hype that ff14 ever got was from a wow streamer⌠not even their own expansion. Lmao
And a streamer that many WoW players despise at that lmao
Why is the fourms salty when ff14 is mentioned Iâll move this post to off topic. But just wanted to know why yall give a darn about something that is unpopular.
Hybrid players of both games, get no validation, attention, or sympathies from the FF14 community. They call you a shill, they make fun of you, and bully you for still playing WoW. So they come here, where the hybrid community pretty much exists.
Being a WoW fan in FF14 will get you bullied.
Being a FF14 fan in WoW is normal.
It shows you that on top of FF14âs recent popularity, the vast majority of âex wowâ players arenât even ex wow players⌠theyâre taking a break from WoWâs content drought. Theyâre literally coming back to WoW. Because they play both.
This is the best take
I wouldnât bother engaging with him. Itâs like slamming your head into a rather stubborn brick wall.
hmmm why donât people want to know you like FF on a WoW forum⌠hmmmm baffling
Not really you can enjoy wow and ff14. I moved it too off topic.
It truly is. I remember talking about WoW in the first guild I joined in FF14, and constantly just got attacked over it. So I quit that guild.
I had to literally find a FF14 guild of hybrid wow/FF players, just to find a place to talk about wow away from negativity.
I play both games still and probably always will these days. But Iâm taking a break from both right now because of Age 4, Halo, and new betas I want to focus on in the next few months.
Ff is a very toxic community to anyone that doesnât mindlessly worship the game. Any mild trash talk gets you reported and banned. This "Great community " is all fake positivity. Every content creator who has ever criticized the game has received life-threatening backlash from this âGreat communityâ (Quin69, Lazy Peon, Scottzone. Just to name a few)
I want to try out halo infinite if they donât fix this launch thing in ff14 I will wait a month before returning
FF14 is relevant to WoW, being the other top MMO in the industry and many hybrid players existing. I think Blizzard needs to learn from this situation.
I mean they can compete but I feel that they lived ignorantly blind to FF14, just assuming itâs nothing to worry about. I want WoW to be a better game. I donât want WoW to be like FF14 either, but Blizzard should try to address the way FF appeals to the MMO fan.
Competition breeds innovation. WoW needs to innovate and learn from both FF14 and the success of Classic WoW. I want WoW to be the best game.
