Not a complaint or I quit thread, matter in fact I’m really enjoying the expansion and think there’s things they can do better like any expansion but I genuinely feel like from launch till now the game feels emptier.
I mainly do PvP and the LFG has dried up a lot, I see the same teams over and over and the brackets at the lower end just seem to be dominated by the same people you see on the higher end.
Idk, maybe I’m alliance and my faction is dead so that could be it too.
But does anyone else get the empty feeling this early into this expansion?

It’s unrewarding and so people have gravitated towards games that fulfill them.

Clearly haven’t been to moonguard’s goldshire inn
350 million in one shooter and 110 million in another. WoW did itself in trying to cater to the 1% minority as always. Meanwhile those other games gave everyone cake for free and made many streamers millions. Guess where they aren’t coming back for round 3 of even more broken PVP?

it is in lower areas no matter what server your on and no one really knows how many are actually playing but this expansion took a dump quick so.

It’s the afterlife expansion. It’d be weird if it wasn’t a ghost town.

What others have said.
Getting into PvP is annoying, long, uselessly frustrating. You have to go through HOURS of getting conquest gear to get to “base” PvP level.
Other games? Just go in, have fun, pwn some people.
WoW? Oh hell no.

I’ve stuck around to see friends and I really enjoy the class design.
That said, I feel this expansion is in really rough shape. PvE gearing is bad, PvP is unapproachable on alts because you get wiped in a global with anything more than a 15/20 ilvl difference, and the factions don’t really give us a lot to do.
It is pretty dead right now, sadly.
In a matter of weeks I stopped playing and so did most of the people I know.
I suppose a new raid will bring back some?
I’m feeling pretty meh and have moved on to other stuff for now. Lots of good games out there to try while WoW figures itself out.

Lmao catering to the 1%? Please.
This game literally provides an avenue for everything from casual to the absolute bleeding edge. And every single person at the top, started at the bottom at thr same time you did at the launch of SL.
Please though, do tell how it “caters” to a small group of top end players lmao.

Without speculating about why so the thread does that get derailed, yes, I agree op. It was really dead on my server this afternoon. In past week or so, it’s seemed much less active. No longbois in oribos, less people online, etc. Tonight though, I couldn’t even find a group of players to group with before just logging off to play valheim. I really just don’t want to sift around in lfg for 2 hours, that’s just not fun or a reasonable use of free time.
it feels like bfa patch 8.5 right now. xpac is just boring.

Honestly, yes. Up until about the first week of February, on any given non-raid night my guild would see upwards of 15-20 people doing various things. Now it’s rare to see more than 4-5 on a non-raid night. Granted, we’re not a big guild, but the drop-off in the past month has been massive.
Honestly, I think it’s because of how grindy this expansion is. Let me rephrase that a little. This game has always been grindy. In the past, the grind was fun. Now it’s a chore. The grind-y-ness in SL is horrible, and that is just one of the problems with SL. Here’s my list of ideas why there aren’t many people on:
-World/daily quests take too long and reward too little.
-Leveling past about 52 is too much of a pain on most specs because of the damage and health ratio of the mobs to the player isn’t scaled very well (especially 57+).
-There’s still no flying. (Honestly, Blizzard, how have you still not learned that keeping flying from they players for months into an expansion is a horrible idea? You should have learned that from WoD.)
-The current raid isn’t particularly exciting (especially for melee.)
-M+ is dominated by a very few specs, while the rest are hung out to dry.
-Class balance is some of the worst it’s been in the game’s history, and the first major “balance patch” of the expansion did absolutely nothing to alleviate this problem.
-Torghast and its many and varried problems - boring, too rng for powers, horrible on some classes, takes way too long ,etc…
-The Maw is a nearly-universally despised zone to do anything in, at least in my guild.

I was quite interested in this when I saw what it had going for it. Too bad. It’s uninstalled now, and I have account time left. I don’t even know the status of Oribos anymore.

I don’t have SLs but I do play older content, trying out Tichondrius and have noticed there are some others doing what I’m doing, plus some 60 level toons so there are some still around.
It’s also Spring and with Summer, more people will be doing other things.
Also, the lockdowns are ending so I think this will make a difference in how many are playing.
