Why does Teldrassil look so different after being burned?

and I don’t just mean because it got turned into a jpeg. I mean it’s aesthetic design is considerably different.

I presume it is just a revision to the original design, which might have been limited due to old graphics/resources (and was never changed until it was destroyed) or something along those lines.
If that makes any sense whatsoever.

I believe the original concept art was more like the “.jpg” leftovers of Teldrassil we see in game than the actual in game representation. It was probably simpler back then just to make it a giant plateau that vaguely resembled the trunk of a tree than to do it detailed like the concept art.

because the actual zone was more like a giant stump than a tree, they took the liberty of making it more tree shaped after it burned down.

it would be genuienly interesting to see teldrassil remade with modern tech to be actually like a tree.
