Why does shadow have Shadow Form -and- Void Form?

I stopped using shadow form on my priest on old content today and was positively stunned that I liked how my mog looked. This whole time I’d never actually seen my priest in action. Abilities looked great, there was contrast now between my character and their abilities instead of it all just being a blob of swirling shadows. The transition into void form was epic too, I became engulfed in the void and started firing off dark powers every which and where (before clicking shadow form off right after void form ended).

Shouldn’t shadow form itself just be a glyph at this point? It’s visually redundant with void form and all the visuals have more contrast without it. With a new expansion coming, making the aesthetic a choice would be nice.

I would like them to add a bunch of cosmetic glyphs to Shadowform:

  • Glyph of Good Shadowform - gives Shadowform before the BFA rework
  • Glyph of Bad Shadowform - gives the dirty cloud Shadowform we have today
  • Glyph of Voidform - you look like Voidform all the time
  • Glyph of Combat Shadowform - Shadowform is visually disabled outside of combat
  • Glyph of No Shadowform - Shadowform is visually disabled inside and outside of combat

None of this has any impact on balancing the game, and all the graphics are already in the game, it should take like 30 minutes to code all 5 glyphs combined.

Sad thing for me is, shadow priests and shadow form are the reason why I started playing a priest back in vanilla, how unique they look and how it makes them stand out from the other priest specializations, the mounts look incredible while in shadow form, ESPECIALLY the ones that glow… but really can’t stand the current one, the bizarre strips of dark that loom over your body like when you’re at high corruption, it looks atrocious on the pets when you have shadowy friends, and what’s worse is you have to have the glyph bound to both mounts AND pets, you can’t just have it work solely for your mount… that isn’t even an option. The shadowform also leaves giant globs of dark mess while flying, whatever that is, lol. Options would seriously be nice :frowning:
