Why Does Revendreth Feel Small?

It’s not really a small zone - it takes a good bit of time to fly across it, but I can’t help but feel that this zone is small regardless of that.

What is it in Revendreth that makes it feel so small? Is it all of the walls? I can’t put my finger on it.

That’d be my guess; traveling around the other zones is more fluid. Revendreth is all cliffs and walls so it seems very broken up.

Its was built around elevator bosses so I guess they took that into account when creating the zone .

Typical that they don’t think more than 5 minutes ahead and go “Oh hey players are going to be flying soon”. TBH every zone feels small compared to all previous expansions, and in part that is due to how they are literally disconnected from each other.

Got a calling in Maldraxxus? Cool, FP into the area, go and kill those mobs for 10 minutes and than leave the zone entirely by using an FP/hearth/TP to get out as fast as you came in. You can’t simply fly from Ardenweald to Bastion and see the zones, you HAVE to FP or TP in so are beelining it to the area you want whether you want to or not and don’t get to manually fly between zones and see everything, it’s a poor design.

I don’t find any of the zones in Shadowlands feel small.

Prob cuz the Ember Ward hogs up a good chunk of it so we see all the amount of typical venthyr architecture and it feels like there’s not a lot

Most of revendreth is quite narrow when you think about it, alot of hills, mountains, crumbling ruins and elevators rather than large sprawling open areas.

The urban areas can be a little open in some spots but they’re also filled to the brim with enemy npcs.

I changed Covenants from Ardenweald (which is small )compared to Revendreth which seems huge, just layered.

I love my home. Doesn’t seem small, just very vertical

Feels like the ultimate expression of Transylvanian Vampire… Aside from the lack of Blood.

The ultimate Gothic TV Show would have Vampires, Werewolves, Gargoyles with Glowing Red Eyes, Horned Girls with Long Hair, Black-Winged Hags, Girls with Capes & Pointy Hats and the Seven/Eight Deadly Sins.

The Vampires would include Dracula, Carmilla, Orlok and Countess Elizabeth Báthory. There would be Fountains of Blood in their domain and they will all be Villains every single last one of them!

The Long-Haired Girls with Horns(some having Cool Expression and/or Wings) would live in a vast Castle Network with various types of Gargoyles with the Female Gargoyles resembling Revendreth’s Red Eyed Nathrezim Females(complete with Cloven Hooves) while the Males resemble General Grashaal but with Glowing Red Eyes. They would for the most part all be Good Guys.

The Werewolves would be allied with the Vampires. Werewolves would. The Red Eyed Wolfmen would be allied with the Horned Girls with Long Hair and Gargoyles.

The Good Hags would have 6 Black Wings on their back and wear a mask while the Evil Ones would have no Wings and go with no mask ever. Some of the Evil ones would wear Black Pointy Hats & Black Dress and ride Broomsticks.

The Young Girls with Black Pointy Hats and Capes would vary in Morality. The Evil Ones I.E. Witches would use Runic Magic, Rituals(which are profane by the very fact that they are Rituals) and/or Verbal Incantations while the Good Ones AKA the Thaumaturges would just fire off Miracles from their hands or staves without much of a word(besides “Take this!”).

The Seven/Eight Deadly would include all their Variants with Light and Dark Sides:
Pride and Superiority:

Dark Side Superiority is Denathrius looking down on Mortals in Superiority unleashing the Red Energies of Superiority.

Light Side Superiority would look like that Vulture-like Bird Thing that Fury mistook for Envy from Darksiders 3.

Dark Side Pride would be a Cross between Pride from FMA Brotherhood, Mikoto Misaka(who shares a Voice with Pride) and Stern the Destructor(who is a dark fire using Doppelganger of Nanoha who shares a voice with Sailor Mars who shares a voice with Misaka). She would be Confident and Complimentative while controlling Shadows, Lightning and Fire.

Vainglory:
Light Side would resemble and act like Pride from Darksiders 3(hiding behind a mask while praising oneself is Vainglory not Pride) while the Dark Side would resemble Skuld from Kingdom Hearts Union X(on the suspicion that she will be sent into the past by Braig to become Vanitas) and show off a lot.

Greed/Avarice:
Light Side Greed would basically be Baroness Greed from Diablo while Dark Side Greed would be Fullmetal Alchemist Greed and thus be nicer.

Light Side Avarice would be a Girl who constantly admires everything she sees that isn’t hers while Dark Side Avarice would be Avarice from Darksiders 3 with his hoarding.

The Oldest Profession/Lust
The Light Side of the Oldest Profession would look like some Girl who constantly demands Money for dates while the Dark Side would look like a Madame of a House of Ill Repute.

The Light Side of Lust would look and act like Darksiders 3’s version of Lust while the Dark Side would look like Dawn of Mana’s Ritzia with FMA Lust’s Claws and have a humorous habit of stroking her face with her claws for the sake of the sensation.

Sorrow/Envy:
The Light Side of Sorrow would look like a Glowing Water Elemental while Dark Side Sorrow would look like a Raincloud.

Light Side Envy would have a White version of FMA Envy’s Clothes and wings resembling Tales of Symphonia’s Mithos(who shares a Japanese voice with Envy) and has the Gender and hairstyle of MLP’s Daring Do(who also shares a voice with Envy according to TV Tropes).

She’d talk a big show but upon having her Envy recognized be so upset and humiliated that she can no longer transform(and since she is in her Cool form decides Self-Destructing as being too humiliating).

Dark Side Envy is basically Darksiders 3’s Envy of course she has all the more reason to fly into a rant where she goes “It was mine! I had it! I deserved it! Mine!”

Anger/Wrath/Ire

Light Side of Ire looks like a Violent Flame with Dark Side of Ire looking like a Black Smoke-like being resembling the Sha of Violence unleashing Irritated Violence constantly

Light Side of Anger resembles a shrieking Flame while the Dark Side of Anger resembling the Sha of Anger shrieking “You will not bury me again!!!”

Light Side of Wrath looks like the Night Warrior while the Dark Side of Wrath resembles a Cross between FMA Wrath(the Kid version not the King Bradley version) and Levi the Slasher(who shares a voice actor with Wrath) while having a frowning sulky personality.

Sloth

Light Side of Sloth would be a mystery while Dark Side of Sloth would have multiple Bodies due to sheer laziness in choosing a form.

Since FMA Sloth shares a voice with Shizuri Miguno(Meltdowner from a Certain Scientific Railgun) who shares a Japanese Voice with Kagami Hiiragi one of the Bodies will resemble Kagami. Since Sloth also shares a Japanese Voice with Viluy from Sailor Moon another Body will resemble Viluy in her School Girl Guise.

Since Sloth from FMA Brotherhood shares a voice with Garrosh one of the Bodies will resemble Garrosh combined with FMA Brotherhood Sloth.

Since Sloth from Darksiders 3 shares a voice with N’Zoth and Darksiders Genesis Dagon one of the Bodies will resemble Dagon while having N’Zoth’s color scheme and Darksiders 3 Sloth’s Bug Wings

Since Sloth from Darksiders 3 also shares a voice with Valkorion who is one of the Bodies of the Sith Emperor 2 of Sloth’s Bodies will be based on the Sith Emperor’s Tenebrae and Vitiate Bodies.

A worthy ideal for a TV Show embodying Gothicness!

It’s this. High Mountain and Stormheim to a degree suffer from the same issue. They feel small, like there’s not much surface area. A lot of it is occupied, buildings, mesas etc.

Because everything, except for the ember wards is fairly closed in and crowded.

The other zones all have a decent chunk of empty space just sitting there, whereas most of Revendreth has something going on.

For me its the closed in feel combined with how it all has the same look. Even though it takes time to cross, its all the same vertical hard to access walls and elevators with the same streets and people, with few differentiating land marks, ember ward excepted of course.

I actually think it feels way larger than the other areas, aside bastion.
I hope they go back to whole continents though.

I personally feel that Revendreth is too damaged for my liking… I would like to see it more intact.

The Ruin in the Village Ward is a sad place as I wish I could have seen it in it’s pristine form as a Castle… Same goes for the ruin in the Catacombs Ward.

The only streets I’ve seen are the ones in the Redelav District(filled with Important Named Venthyr) and Chalice District(where almost every Venthyr is a nameless mook) and both are in the Castle Ward and right next to each other.

As I am not a violent man who mercilessly butchers his way across the Zone I do my best to avoid conflict not mandated by World Quests in both Districts which is of course challenging and requires running a lot.

I thankfully can recognize the two Districts and that keeps Revendreth from looking Small to me.

Of course there are 2 Villages filled with Enemies outside the Castle Ward that I’ve had to deal with: Caretaker’s Manor(Village Ward) and Dredhollow(Forest Ward).

Dredhollow’s World Quest is usually a matter of patience while Caretaker’s Manor is a place I dread due to how hard it is(though I still go there when I need Anima all the same).

There are also the Camps along the walls of the Forest Ward which are very similar: The Forbidden Library(I hardly ever visit as it is a poor library) and the Stalker’s Lodge(I usually go straight there and avoid exploring Banewood on grounds of vicious Spiders who can kill my Death Knight dead).

But perhaps you are speaking of the Ceremony Ward known as the Halls of Atonement.

There are so many parts of the Halls of Atonement that resemble the Party Area of the Castle Ward that I can’t keep them straight! That said I can at least recognize the place where they stuff all the Souls into small Tombs at the least.

I’ve been to Dominance Keep though only got to appreciate it’s design during the Chains of Domination Questline for the Night Warrior. Of course it is just one side of Dominance Keep I got to see the wonders of alas…and it pretty much resembles the Halls of Atonement in places…

I feel like all of the shadowlands zones feel small except the maw. But the maw is terrible so I wish it was smaller.

It’s funny but for me it’s the only Shadowlands zone that doesn’t feel tiny. I think it’s because when you fly to it the covenant is at the far end of the zone from where you enter where as the others to me are more centralized.

That said with flight in the zone they are all pretty small.

What’s more impressive to me is that Korthia feels tiny even without flight.
