Can you delete this so i don’t have to disagree with you. I’d rather 4v3 ret/ret/ret/healer than another gd warrior, which is in literally every game.
I’d bet if they made healing done show damage mitigated by defensive stance, and ignore pain (not just the absorb portion) warriors would outheal ret.

It’s weird tho because I don’t have any issues with warriors rn, keep in mind its only 2100 mmr and maybe warriors are just bad, but ret you can be bad and still win.
Nerf the burst its stupid, bring back utility, cc, nerf wog, bring back divine protection.

I would actually say that warrior is more brainless than ret. Ret can get lucky and 1 shot for sure. But warrior is so strong right now you can just pve to 2100.
I’m not saying ret isn’t whacky af, and absolutely toxic for overall arena gameplay atm. I’m just saying warrior is much more game breaking. I can understand tho from a melee perspective that ret is scarier.
What woukd you want ret to be because I see too many ppl that post as an overtuned soec and go “yea we hate this” but rack up those +18cr nonetheless
I dont exoect ppl to stoo playing their spec when its busted but am extremely vexed when they try to sanitize the gimmicks by saying “none of us like divine toll” but are kyrian regardless abd fish for those tolls with a smirk pained across their entire body
The best part is when you fight Arms/Ret. Good times. Big condemns into Ret dam. Warriors I feel are balanced at least from the comp PoV I play. Probably varies.

Am i speaking tongues here? Everyone here has been touched in not a nice place by a ret. The difference here is that maybe it hasnt happened to you all enough to see when its about to happen and react, no one likes being nuked by DT i agree, but sitting here and acting like ret beats everything and has no weaknesses and that its not your fault you died just doesnt make sense. Is it that hard to see when the ret is about to go? If a chaosbolt is coming in w/ trinket or darksoul or double bolt leggo you guys press buttons to stop from dying?
Id like to think im not that out of touch and what im saying isnt that profound. People being able to die outside of CD’s is better for the game than BFA damp fests. I agree, DT one shots suck. But these massive TV’s that everyone is going nuts about dont happen unless the ret is obviously juiced up, its not like the ret is running a swifty one shot seraphim+wings+DT+TV button. Seraphim is up? You should be worried. Reckoning is climbing or is about to proc, you should be worried, ret has wings up? You should be worried. None of these work well without the other, so more than likely you just have to press 1 or 2 buttons and you are fine.
He’s playing Ret and obviously is enjoying the “power” factor so of course like a lot of rets, is going to do his best to defend it even if it is ridiculous.

TF you want us to do when you hit us with 26 hammers like tim the tool man Taylor from 30 yards away for 20k after you got 1 swing from wings off b4 i was able to kite so I was already at 40% hp. How can you argue that’s not toxic for the arena scene? It’s equally as toxic, as warriors being unstoppable forces, and mages healing more than hybrid classes while high diving their keyboard for 10k dps. Also are we pretending like cross CC doesn’t exist? Like, maybe you used wings while i was in a poly, or a stormbolt? So i trinket that, then get hoj, then get BL, you get the picture. Seems like ret picture this 1v1 scenario of them standing 50 yards away when they press wings vs an opponent with trinket off cd when they consider their balance, but realistically their partners are cross cc’ing us for the go if they are higher than 1200.
Its like ele playing night fae, if you don’t pick the best covenant you’re kicking yourself in the nuts.
Personally I havent played the game much for about 3-4weeks now. I have maybe 20 2s games done and 0 3s games.
I feel like since Legion ret was completely scraped off its original design which was ‘‘Inevitable Justice’’ and now its just ‘‘Rando Oneshot Juggernaught’’
I prefered Ret in wod WoD. Back when the big heal was Execution Sentence and it had 1min cooldown, wog was about 10-15% max health usually. Ret had a lot of ranged damage and ways to get back to its target through sustained mobility and the ability to remove slows and roots with emancipate. Due to the fact that ret has higher uptime, its burst was also not as explosive that it currently is.
When they used wings instead of doing, lets say random numbers because I don’t remember the damage numbers in wod, 10k without wings, they did 12-14k with wings because they only had wings and badge trinket as damage amplifier.
Right now, since BFA, ret has so terrible mobility because they pushed the ‘‘juggernaught’’ design by having terrible uptime, but to counter that poor uptime they gave them multiple damage amplifier so when they connect with wings up it’s doing way too high damage.
The difference is my go does maybe 18k damage total, your go does anywhere between 40k-100k dam.

Im necro ret so im rather fine with DT getting gutted. Maybe its because I play ret and Ive fought alot of rets and they arent that scary to me. Literally my monkey brain says run and hide on wings or reckoning procs and im typically pretty ok. I think ret is a nightmare for 1800 and below for sure.
If you show me an arena ret doing 100k dmg in a hoj ill delete my ret.
edit I think every single ret getting its tool kit updated at the expense of damage would be happy. Every ret, myself included doesnt want to get nerfed and not fixed as a spec, so you find the occasional ret on the forums defending it against some good arguments and some not so good arguments like OP. Ill die on the hill of ret pushes buttons, you push buttons
